Kataklysm is a Canadian death metal band. As of 2024, they have released fifteen studio albums, two EPs, and two DVDs. Kataklysm received their first Juno Award (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammy Awards, Grammy) for Best Album of the Year in the "Heavy Metal" category for their 2015 album ''Of Ghosts and Gods''. Biography Kataklysm was formed in Montreal, Quebec in September 1991. Early in their career, the band became known for their fast and technical brand of death metal, referred to as the "Northern Hyperblast". Tim Roth (musician)
Tim Roth (born December 6, 1975) is the guitarist, backing vocalist and only remaining founding member of Canadian melodic death metal and progressive metal band, Into Eternity. Roth is very much the mastermind of Into Eternity, plays the majority of their guitar solos and also was originally the lead vocalist. His primary guitar is an Ibanez S470, and has said that he does not use amplifiers in studio recordings, but uses instead a program called Amp Farm. He has been playing guitar for 32 years. He has a somewhat unconventional style of playing revolved on his unique alternate picking style and sweep/tap arpeggios. His vocal style consists of high pitched clean power metal vocals and a more black metal oriented shriek (complementing the deeper death metal growls of his co-vocalists). ''Man on Fire'' is a 2004 Action film, action thriller film directed and produced by Tony Scott, with a screenplay by Brian Helgeland and co-produced by Arnon Milchan. ''Serenity in Fire'' is the seventh studio album by the Canadian death metal band Kataklysm. The spoken passage in the track ''The Ambassador of Pain'' is a quote from Paul Newman's character in the film, Road to Perdition. Peter Tägtgren contributed guest vocals on the album. The song "As I Slither" was featured on the soundtrack for the film ''Alone in the Dark'' (2005) via Nuclear Blast, which is considered one of the worst movies ever made, starring actress Tara Reid. The song "The Night They Returned" was originally composed for the feature film (also titled ''The Night They Returned'') by independent filmmaker Sv Bell.
