"In My Room" is a song written by Brian Wilson and Gary Usher for the American rock band the Beach Boys. It was released on their 1963 album '' Surfer Girl''. It was also released as the B-side of the " Be True to Your School" single. The single peaked at number 23 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 (the A-side peaked at number 6, for a two-sided top-40) and was eventually inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999. The Beach Boys
The Beach Boys are an American Rock music, rock band formed in Hawthorne, California, in 1961. The group's original lineup consisted of brothers Brian Wilson, Brian, Dennis Wilson, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and their friend Al Jardine. Distinguished by their vocal harmonies, adolescent-oriented lyrics, and musical ingenuity, they are one of the most influential acts of the rock era. Over-the-line
Over-the-line is a bat-and-ball sport, a game related to baseball and softball. Like those games, it involves a batter, pitcher, and fielders. Since a game requires only three people per team, it is considerably easier to organize an informal game. The equipment consists of a rope (or lines marked in the sand), an "official" softball bat & an "official" Orange rubber DeBeer softball. No gloves are allowed while fielding in the Men's divisions unless 60+ years of age. However, gloves are allowed for the women's divisions. Mike Love
Michael Edward Love (born March 15, 1941) is an American singer and songwriter who is one of the vocalists of the Beach Boys, of which he was an original member alongside his cousins Brian Wilson, Dennis Wilson, and Carl Wilson and their friend Al Jardine. He is the band's only constant member, appearing on all its albums, and following the death of Brian Wilson, he became the last-surviving familial co-founder. "That's Why God Made the Radio" is a song written by Joe Thomas, Brian Wilson, Jim Peterik, and Larry Millas (Peterik and Millas are original members of The Ides Of March) for the American rock band The Beach Boys. It was the first new single from the band in 20 years and was included on the band's 29th studio album of the same name. The album was recorded to coincide with the band's 50th anniversary, which featured a reunion tour of the surviving co-founders. According to the song's co-writer Peterik: Commercial performance "That's Why God Made the Radio" made its national radio debut April 25, 2012 on ESPN's '' Mike and Mike in the Morning''. David Marks (musician)
David Lee Marks (born August 22, 1948) is an American guitarist who was an early member of the Beach Boys. While growing up in Hawthorne, California, Marks was a neighborhood friend of the original band members and was a frequent participant at their family get-togethers. Following his departure from the group, Marks fronted the Marksmen and performed and recorded as a session musician. Marks played music with the brothers from before the band started performing publicly, including the first demo recording for "Surfin'" (recorded as The Pendletones), but he was in schooland his 12-year-old voice was deemed unnecessaryon the October 1961 afternoon the group held the final recording session for the single, released in November 1961 with the new name Beach Boys on the single's label. Al Jardine
Alan Charles Jardine (born September 3, 1942) is an American musician who co-founded the Beach Boys. He is best known as the band's rhythm guitarist, background vocalist, and for occasionally singing lead vocals on singles such as number-one hit "Help Me, Rhonda" (1965), "Then I Kissed Her" (1965), "Cotton Fields#The Beach Boys cover, Cottonfields" (1970), and a cover of the Del-Vikings' "Come Go with Me" (1981). His song "Lady Lynda" was also a UK top 10 hit for the group in 1979.
