"In a Lifetime" is a pop song performed by Irish artists Clannad and Bono. It was written by brothers Pól Brennan and Ciarán Brennan and produced by Steve Nye. The single was released in January 1986, and was the third single to be released from Clannad's eighth studio album '' Macalla'' (1985). It charted in many countries including United States, Ireland, UK, Italy and Brazil. It is one of Clannad's most successful songs and it remains as Bono's most successful solo effort. The single was re-released in 1989 with a change of artwork on the cover and a different B Side ("Something To Believe In (edit)"). The song also appears on Moya Brennan's 2008 live album ''Heart Strings'' and on Triniti's début album. Clannad () were an Irish band formed in 1970 in Gweedore, County Donegal, by siblings , and (Moya) (in English, Brennan) and their twin uncles Noel and (Duggan). They have adopted various musical styles throughout their history. Beginning as an acoustic folk group mainly performing rearranged traditional Irish songs in Irish, they expanded their sound with original songs in English, vocal harmonies, electronic keyboards, and elements of rock, Celtic, new age, smooth jazz, and Gregorian chant. Initially known as ('Family from Dore'), they shortened their name to Clannad in 1973. By 1979 they had released three albums and toured Europe and the US. ''Heart Strings'' is a live album by Irish singer Moya Brennan. The album was released in September 2008, but was previously available to fans throughout Brennan's Spring 2008 tour of the Netherlands. It was recorded at her concerts on 21 October 2007 in the Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool, and in November 2007 in Germany. A new version featuring " Harry's Game" was released in 2009. Versions The version of the album available during Moya Brennan's Spring 2008 tour (as opposed to worldwide release) sounds different, mainly the strings being lower in volume. The front cover of the album also varies, with the placing of "Live with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra" at the bottom of the cover on the large-scale item. Finally, the track " Harry's Game" does not feature on the Spring 2008 tour item, and was added to the large distributed release. Bruce Randall Hornsby (born November 23, 1954) is an American singer-songwriter and pianist. His music draws from folk rock, jazz, bluegrass music, bluegrass, folk music, folk, Southern rock, country rock, jam band, rock music, rock, heartland rock, and blues rock musical traditions. ''Pastpresent'' is a greatest-hits anthology by Irish folk group Clannad, released in 1989. It is a collection of selected songs recorded by the band from 1982 up to 1989, including two new songs exclusive to this release (until their inclusion on the 2003 remastered edition of ''Sirius'') – " The Hunter" and "World of Difference". Three singles were released to promote the anthology: "The Hunter", "In a Lifetime" (re-issue) and the band's only double A-side "Hourglass"/"Theme from Harry's Game". The Dutch Top 40 () is a weekly music chart compiled by ''Stichting Nederlandse Top 40''. It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore radio, offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965.
