The Outsiders (American Band)
The Outsiders were an American rock and roll band from Cleveland, Ohio, that was founded and led by guitarist Tom King. The band released the hit single " Time Won't Let Me" in early 1966, which peaked at No. 5 in the US in April. The band had three other Hot 100 top 40 hit singles in 1966, but none on the Hot 100 afterwards, and released a total of four albums in the mid-1960s. Laurence D. "Larry" Weiss (born March 25, 1941) is an American songwriter and musician. Scott English
Sheldon David "Scott" English (January 10, 1937 – November 16, 2018) was an American songwriter, arranger and record producer. He is best known as the co-writer of "Brandy" which he wrote with Richard Kerr. The song became a No. 1 hit for Barry Manilow in 1974, with the title changed to " Mandy". English had also released a single of "Brandy" which reached No. 12 on the UK Singles Chart in November 1971, and entered the US charts in March 1972. Climax was an American band formed in 1970 in Los Angeles, California, most noted for their 1971-1972 hit song " Precious and Few", which peaked at No. 3 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 singles chart and No. 1 on ''Cashbox'' magazine's Top 100 singles chart. This disc sold over one million copies and was certified gold by the RIAA on February 21, 1972. Career Climax initially consisted of lead singer Sonny Geraci; composer and guitarist Walter D. The Buckinghams
The Buckinghams are an American pop band from Chicago. They formed in 1966 and went on to become one of the top-selling acts of 1967, charting their only five top 40 hits in the U.S. that year. The band dissolved in 1970, but re-formed in 1980 and they continue to tour throughout the United States. History In 1965 guitarists Carl Giammarese and Nick Fortuna, along with bassist Curtis Bachman, were invited to join a band called the Centuries. Giammarese and Bachman, plus keyboardist Dennis Miccolis, later became members of another band, the Pulsations, whose members included drummer John Poulos and vocalists George LeGros and Dennis Tufano. "Kind of a Drag" is a song written by Jim Holvay and recorded by the Buckinghams. It was the title track of their debut LP. The single reached #1 on the U.S. Hot 100 in February 1967, becoming the first #1 single within the new calendar year, remaining in the top position for two weeks, earning a music recording sales certification, gold disc. It was the first of the band's three Top 10 hits in 1967, among five total Top 40 hits for that year. Holvay was Chicago-based and had been performing with a group called The Mob (Chicago band), The Mob. Amen Corner were a Welsh rock group formed in Cardiff, Wales. They are best known for their hits " Bend Me, Shape Me" (1968), "High in the Sky" (1968) and the chart-topper " (If Paradise Is) Half as Nice" (1969).
