Imota
Imota is a district in Ikorodu, Lagos State. Their leaders are called Oba Ranodu of Imota. They are Ijebu-speaking people. Etymology The name Imota is coined from "UMU-OTA" meaning "Near the Ota tree". History The geographical location known as "Imota" derives its name from a contraction "Imu-Ota" meaning "Near the Ota tree". This as a result of the migration of Ranodu and his people from Ijebu-Ode in search of separate kingdom and they settle near the Ota tree which today's regarded as Imota. Since then, it is forbidden for all inhabitants of Imota to make fire with Ota tree. The history of Imota shows that the first Ranodu was one of the sons of Obaruwa or Obaruwamoda or Arunwa or Ekewa-olu of Ijebu-ode. Lagos State
Lagos State ( yo, Ìpínlẹ̀ Èkó) is a state in southwestern Nigeria. Of the 36 states, it is both the most populous and smallest in area. Ikorodu
Ikorodu is a large city in Lagos State, Nigeria. It is located to the north-east of Lagos, along the Lagos Lagoon and shares boundary with Ogun State. With a population of over 1million inhabitant, Ikorodu is currently the 12 largest city in Nigeria and growing at a rate of 5.26% annually, it is projected to reach 1.7 million inhabitant by 2035, It is the largest local government in Lagos State. Ijebu Ode
Ijebu-Ode is a town in Ogun State, South Western geopolitical zone in Nigeria, close to the A121 highway. The city is located 110 km by road north-east of Lagos; it is within of the Atlantic Ocean in the eastern part of Ogun State and possesses a warm tropical climate. Ijede is a local council development area in Lagos State, Nigeria. The present chairman of her council is Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba. Ijede Local Council Development Area is one of the 37 LCDAs created from the original 20 Local Governments in Lagos State by the Administration of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu (Jagaban Burgu) In the year 2003. Nigeria is a federation of 36 states and 1 federal capital territory. Oba's Crown
An Oba's crown represents the highest level of authority vested in Yoruba rulers. Referred to as an Ade, the bead-embroidered crown is the foremost attribute of the ruler. An oba's crown may also be referred to as an Adenla, or great crown. Andenla are elaborate conical headdresses, like the ade, but feature a heavily beaded veil that covers the face. Ikeja
Ikeja is the capital city of Lagos State in southwestern Nigeria. Its population, as of the 2006 census, is 313,196. Badagry
Badagry (traditionally Gbagli) also spelled Badagri, is a coastal town and Local Government Area (LGA) in Lagos State, Nigeria.
