Imminence (band)
Imminence is a Swedish metalcore band formed in Trelleborg. The group consists of vocalist Eddie Berg, rhythm guitarist Harald Barrett, Lead guitarist Alex Arnoldsson, bassist Christian Höijer and drummer Peter Hanström. History Formation and EPs (2009-2013) Barrett and Berg formed the band in 2009 and decided on the name Imminence in 2010. Arnoldsson and Hanström joined the band in 2012. In 2012, they released their debut EP, ''Born of Sirius'', which was well received by fans and critics. That year, they were also selected to play at the Metaltown Festival, one of the largest music festivals in Sweden. In 2013, Imminence signed a contract with We Are Triumphant Records, a sub-label for the Chicago-based record company Victory Records, where they released their second EP, ''Return for Helios'', along with the single "Wine & Water". Metaltown Festival
The Metaltown festival was a three-day festival featuring heavy metal bands, held in Gothenburg, Sweden. It was arranged annually from 2004 to 2013. The original Metaltown venue was at Frihamnen, but was moved in 2011 to Göteborg Galopp close to Gothenburg City Airport. An indoor revival was held in 2016 at Trädgår'n. An attempted revival in 2020 to be held at Frihamnen was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Architects (British Band)
Architects are an English metalcore band from Brighton, East Sussex, England formed in 2004 by twin brothers Dan and Tom Searle. The band now consists of Dan Searle on drums, Sam Carter on vocals, Alex Dean on bass, and Adam Christianson on guitar. They have been signed to Epitaph Records since 2013. Strongly influenced by bands such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, the sound of their first three albums was coarse, chaotic, and rhythmically complex. Bon Iver ( ) is an American indie folk band founded in 2006 by singer-songwriter Justin Vernon in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. In Flames is a Swedish Heavy metal music, heavy metal band, formed by guitarist Jesper Strömblad in Gothenburg in 1990 out of the Swedish death metal, Swedish death metal scene. Post-metal
Post-metal is a music genre rooted in heavy metal but exploring approaches beyond metal conventions. It emerged in the 1990s with bands such as Neurosis and Godflesh, who transformed metal texture through experimental composition. In a way similar to the predecessor genres post-rock and post-hardcore, post-metal offsets the darkness and intensity of extreme metal with an emphasis on atmosphere, emotion, and even "revelation", developing an expansive but introspective sound variously imbued with elements of ambient, noise, psychedelic, progressive, and classical music, and often shoegaze and art rock. Songs are typically long, with loose and layered structures that discard the verse–chorus form in favor of crescendos and repeating themes. Symphonic metal is a cross-genre style designation for the symphonic subsets of heavy metal music subgenres. It is used to denote any metal band that makes use of symphonic or orchestral elements.
