Rooster Teeth Productions, LLC was an American entertainment company headquartered in Austin, Texas. Founded in 2003 by Burnie Burns, Matt Hullum, Geoff Ramsey, Jason Saldaña, Gus Sorola, and Joel Heyman, Rooster Teeth was a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Streaming & Interactive Entertainment, which is a division of Warner Bros. Discovery. Rooster Teeth's first production was ''Red vs. Blue'', which premiered in April 2003; it is the third longest-running episodic web series of all time. Due to server and web hosting costs, the founders created "Sponsorships" which later became "FIRST", a subscription to exclusive and earlier access to content and discounts on their merchandise store, among other benefits. Apple Switch Ad Campaign
Switchers was an advertising campaign launched by Apple Computer on June 10, 2002. It featured what the company referred to as "real people" who had "switched" from the Microsoft Windows platform to the Mac (computer), Mac. An international television and print ad campaign directed users to a website where various "myths" about the Mac platform were "dispelled". The television commercials were directed by Errol Morris. Switchers A young woman who appeared in the commercials, Ellen Feiss, became an internet celebrity. Feiss was a friend of Morris's son Hamilton Morris, who also appeared in a commercial. Localized versions of the commercials, with local "switchers", aired in Iceland and Japan. Gustavo Raul "Gus" Sorola III (born February 22, 1978) is an American actor and podcast host. Early life Sorola was born in Austin, Texas, Austin, and raised in Eagle Pass, Texas, near the Mexico–United States border. After choosing to drop out from Rice University, he started working at a tech support company, teleNetwork, where he met Rooster Teeth co-founders Burnie Burns and Geoff Ramsey. Career Sorola was a founding member of Rooster Teeth Productions, appearing in many of their productions. Sorola was employed by Rooster Teeth until their closure in May 2024.
