Immanuel Schools
Immanuel Schools are Mennonite schools located in Reedley, California and serving the surrounding area, including Dinuba and Kingsburg. The schools are officially dedicated to provide a religious private education on their campuses, which include a K-6 Immanuel Elementary school, a 7-8 Immanuel Junior High School, and a 9-12 Immanuel High School. Their mascot is the eagle and their school colors are red, white, and blue. Overview Immanuel High School was founded as a Bible School in 1926 by interested members of the Mennonite Brethren Church. the educational program was carried on in the old Sunday School building which was then located just south of the present Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church. It became the desire of the local MB Churches to educate their children in Biblical knowledge beyond the training the churches provided. Reedley is a city in Fresno County, California, United States. It is located in the San Joaquin Valley, east-southeast of Fresno, at an elevation of . The population at the 2010 census was . Mennonites are groups of Anabaptist Christian church communities of denominations. The name is derived from the founder of the movement, Menno Simons (1496–1561) of Friesland. Immanuel High School
Immanuel High School is a Christian high school located in Reedley, California. The school is a private Christian school that serves Fresno County and Tulare County. It is one of the Immanuel Schools. Academics The class schedule is a rotating drop schedule in which not all classes are taught every day. Chapels are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays where there is typically worship led by students and a speaker following. Flex periods are held every day at the end after all academic classes for 30 minutes where students are able to meet with teachers to discuss classwork. The Global Anabaptist Mennonite Encyclopedia Online (GAMEO) is an online encyclopedia of topics relating to Mennonites and Anabaptism. The mission of the project is to provide free, reliable, English-language information on Anabaptist-related topics. GAMEO was started in 1996 as the Canadian Mennonite Encyclopedia Online by the Mennonite Historical Society of Canada. In 2005 the project was renamed to its current title and the scope expanded with the additional partnership of the Mennonite Brethren Historical Commission and the Mennonite Church USA Archives. The collaboration has since further expanded, with the addition of the Mennonite Central Committee in 2006, the Mennonite World Conference in January 2007, and the Institute for the Study of Global Anabaptism in 2011.
