Ilya Mikheyev (ice Hockey)
Ilya Andreyevich Mikheyev (; born 10 October 1994) is a Russian professional ice hockey right winger for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has previously played with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks of the NHL and Avangard Omsk of the Kontinental Hockey League. Early life Mikheyev was born in Omsk, Russia, in southwestern Siberia, to parents Andrey and Natalya. Andrey is a lawyer and law-school lecturer while Natalya is a director in a private company. Mikheyev has an undergraduate degree in sports tourism and a master's degree in sports science. Playing career Russia Mikheyev started his career in the school of Avangard Omsk. Jesper Bratt (born 30 July 1998) is a Swedish professional ice hockey winger for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League (NHL). Gagarin Cup
The Gagarin Cup () is the trophy presented to the winner of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) playoffs, and is named after Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space. The Cup was supposedly named after Gagarin because the last possible game of the inaugural KHL season took place on April 12, the anniversary date of Gagarin's flight. After the end of the KHL's regular season, sixteen teams participate in the playoffs. The round of 16 and quarter-finals were a best-of-five series during the first season, and the semi-finals and finals were a best-of-seven series during the first season. 2017–18 KHL Season
The 2017–18 KHL season was the tenth season of the Kontinental Hockey League. The season started on 21 August 2017 and ended on 22 April 2018. The league accommodated a 33 day Olympic break, to allow its players to participate in the 2018 Winter Olympics in February. Team changes The Croatian club Medveščak Zagreb relocated back to the Austrian Hockey League, and Russian club Metallurg Novokuznetsk was relegated to the Supreme Hockey League, to bring the total number of KHL teams to 27. March 2018 KHL announced that two teams going to drop out after this season and next season have 25 teams. Yugra and Lada Togliatti are the teams that will not continue in KHL. 2015–16 KHL Season
The 2015–16 KHL season was the eighth season of the Kontinental Hockey League. The season started on 24 August 2015 with the Opening Cup between defending champions SKA Saint Petersburg and last year's Continental Cup winners CSKA Moscow, replacing Ak Bars Kazan, the previous season's Gagarin Cup finalists. Team changes Spartak Moscow returned to the league prior to this season. It was also announced by KHL President Dmitry Chernyshenko that Atlant Moscow Oblast would not participate in the league this season due to financial problems.
