Ilmar Sikemäe (born as Helmut Bötker; 18 December 1914 Albu Parish, Järva County – 25 July 1998) was an Estonian writer. 1953–1957, he was the chief editor for the magazine ''Looming''. 1945–1990, he was a member of CPSU The Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU),. Järva County
Järva County ( or ''Järvamaa''; ; ) is one of 15 counties of Estonia. It is situated in the central part of the country and borders Lääne-Viru County to the east, Jõgeva County to the south-east, Viljandi County to the south, Pärnu County to the south-west, Rapla County to the west, and Harju County to the north. Looming (magazine)
''Looming'' (English: ''Creation'') is the oldest literary magazine in Estonia. The headquarters is in Tallinn. History The magazine was established in 1923 by the Estonian writer Friedebert Tuglas. Its purpose was the publication and popularization of Estonian contemporary literature. Virtually all known Estonian authors have contributed to the journal. During the Soviet occupation of Estonia, ''Looming'' was controlled by the Writers' Union of the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic. Currently, the publication of ''Looming'' is jointly funded by the Estonian Ministry of Culture, the State ''Kultuurkapital'' Foundation and the Estonian Writers' Union. The Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU),. Abbreviated in Russian as КПСС, ''KPSS''. at some points known as the Russian Communist Party (RCP), All-Union Communist Party and Bolshevik Party, and sometimes referred to as the Soviet Communist Party (SCP), was the founding and ruling political party of the Soviet Union.
