Ildephonse Musafiri
Ildephonse Musafiri is a Rwandan economist and politician who currently heads the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources since 2 March 2023. Prior to his current appointment, he served as Minister of state in the same ministry from August 2022. Early life and education Musafiri was born 5 June 1979, in Rutsiro, western province of Rwanda. He graduated his high school education in 1998 at Kayove Teacher Training School, in western province of Rwanda. In 2004, he got a bachelor's degree in development economics, a master's degree in applied economics from the National University of Rwanda in 2008, and a PhD in agricultural economics from the University of Bonn in Germany in 2015. Gérardine Mukeshimana
Gérardine Mukeshimana is a Rwandan scientist and politician who served as Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources from July 2014 until March 2, 2023. She was appointed Vice-President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development in August 2023. Early life and education Mukeshimana was born on 10 December 1970 in present-day Huye District. She has an agricultural engineering degree from the National University of Rwanda and a master's degree (2001) and a PhD (2013) in biotechnology from Michigan State University. Her doctoral thesis was entitled "Dissecting the Genetic Complexity of Drought Tolerance Mechanisms in Common Bean (Phaseolus Vulgaris L.)" Paul Kagame
Paul Kagame ( ; born 23 October 1957) is a Rwandan politician and former military officer who has been the President of Rwanda since 2000. He was previously a commander of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), a rebel armed force which invaded Rwanda in 1990. The RPF was one of the main belligerents of the Rwandan Civil War and was the armed force which ended the 1994's Rwandan genocide. He was since considered Rwanda's '' de facto'' leader while Vice President and Minister of Defence under President Pasteur Bizimungu, up to his 2000's election as Rwanda's 4th president and the abolition of the vice-presidential position. National University Of Rwanda
The National University of Rwanda (NUR; , , UNR) was the largest university in Rwanda. It was located at in the city of Butare and was established in 1963 by the government in cooperation with the Congregation of the Dominicans from the Province of Quebec, Canada. Its founder and first rector was Father Georges-Henri Lévesque. When it was established, the NUR had three divisions (Faculties of Medicine and Social Sciences, and a Teacher Training College), 51 students and 16 lecturers. The university suffered badly during the genocide and had to close in 1994, reopening in April 1995. At that time English was introduced as a medium of instruction alongside French.
