Il Conte Di Sant'Elmo
''The Count of Saint Elmo'' () is a 1950 historical adventure film directed by Guido Brignone and starring Massimo Serato, Anna Maria Ferrero and Tino Buazzelli.Chiti & Poppi p.103-4 It was shot at the Farnesina Studios of Titanus in Rome. The film's sets were designed by the art director Ottavio Scotti. Plot On the way to perform at the opera in Naples, a famous singer is accosted by an outlaw leader who then proceeds to let her go with robbing anything. Later she believes she recognises the man as the Count of Sant'Elmo, although he indignantly denies this. She later discovers that he is in fact the leader of band of Carbonari fighting for Italian unification, battling the local chief of police Baron Cassano. Guido Brignone
Guido Brignone (6 December 1886 – 6 March 1959) was an Italian film director and actor. He was the father of actress Lilla Brignone and younger brother of actress Mercedes Brignone. Brignone was born in Milan, Italy. He was the first Italian Director to win the Venice Film Festival or Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica, the oldest film festival in the world, with Best Italian Film, ''Teresa Confalonieri'' (1934). Alfredo Varelli (born Alfredo Ciavarella, 31 August 1914 – 18 August 1996) was an Italian film actor whose career spanned more than six decades. Carlo Croccolo (9 April 1927 – 12 October 2019) was an Italian actor, voice artist, director and screenwriter. Biography Born in Naples, Croccolo began his acting career on the radio and appeared in more than 100 films since 1949. His debut came in the 1949 film ''The Firemen of Viggiù'' and he made his first television debut in 1956.
