The organization promotes its goals as supporting "''peace, culture, and education''". The movement was founded by educators Makiguchi and Toda on 18 November 1930, and held its inaugural meeting in 1937. It was disbanded during the Second World War when much of the leadership was imprisoned for violations of the 1925 Peace Preservation Law and charges of lèse-majesté. After the war, it expanded to a claimed total of 750,000 households in 1958 through explosive recruitment, held to ...

Lake Ikeda
is a caldera lake located 40 km south of Kagoshima city; Kyūshū island, Japan. It is perhaps best known to tourists as the location of the purported sightings of a monster named Issie, and as the largest lake on Kyūshū island with a surface area of 11 km² and a shoreline length of 15 km. Deterioration The development of the areas surrounding Lake Ikeda has caused the quality of the water to decline since 1955. Other causes include an irrigation project, developed for agricultural field and households in the area, which was initiated in 1965, for it the courses of three nearby rivers were diverted into the lake. The irrigation system has been in operation since 1982, resulting in a considerable improvement of the water quality although since the 1950s the transparency of the lake, though still ranked No. 7 in the world, has decreased from 26.8 m to approximately 5m. Animals Lake Ikeda is known to harbour large eels, some six feet in length. In 1998, a bentho ...

Ikeda Map
In physics and mathematics, the Ikeda map is a discrete-time dynamical system given by the complex map : z_ = A + B z_n e^ The original map was proposed first by Kensuke Ikeda as a model of light going around across a nonlinear optical resonator ( ring cavity containing a nonlinear dielectric medium) in a more general form. It is reduced to the above simplified "normal" form by Ikeda, Daido and Akimoto z_n stands for the electric field inside the resonator at the n-th step of rotation in the resonator, and A and C are parameters which indicate laser light applied from the outside, and linear phase across the resonator, respectively. In particular the parameter B \leq 1 is called dissipation parameter characterizing the loss of resonator, and in the limit of B=1 the Ikeda map becomes a conservative map. The original Ikeda map is often used in another modified form in order to take the saturation effect of nonlinear dielectric medium into account: : z_ = A + B z_n e^ A 2D ...

Ikeda (annelid)
Ikedidae is a family of spoon worms in the suborder Bonelliida. It is a monotypic family, the only genus being ''Ikeda''. These worms burrow into soft sediment on the seabed. Examination of the original material of '' Ikeda taenoides'' by Teruaki Nishikawa in 2002 showed that the longitudinal muscle layer lay between the circular layer and the oblique layer, as in all other echiurans, throwing the validity of the family Ikedidae into doubt. Nishikawa advocates that the family be regarded as a junior synonym of Echiuridae. Species The World Register of Marine Species recognises the following species in the genus:- *''Ikeda pirotansis'' ( Menon & DattaGupta, 1962) *''Ikeda taenioides ''Ikeda taenioides'' is a species of spoon worm in the family Ikedidae. It is native to the northern Pacific Ocean where it is found in the subtidal waters around Japan. Taxonomy This spoon worm was first described by the Japanese zoologist I. ...''
