Ihorombe is a region in Madagascar. It borders Haute Matsiatra region in north, Atsimo-Atsinanana in east, Anosy in south and Atsimo-Andrefana in west. Ihosy is a city (commune urbaine) with 283,047 inhabitants (2015) in Ihorombe Region in central south Madagascar. Ihosy is the capital of Ihorombe Region, as well as of the district of Ihosy. Geography Ihosy is an important crosspoint for the southern part of Madagascar. It is crossed by the Route nationale 7 from the capital Antananarivo (600 km) (-Fianarantsoa (191 km) to Toliara (325 km) and startpoint of the Route nationale 13 to Tolagnaro and Route nationale 27 to Farafangana (271 km). Pic d'Ivohibe Reserve is a wildlife reserve of Madagascar. It was created in 1964. Geography Ivohibe is in the southern part of the Andringitra Massif, in the region of the Ihorombe. Kalambatritra Reserve
Kalambatritra Special Reserve is a wildlife reserve in southern Madagascar. It is to the north of Andohahela National Park, south-west of the Manombo Special Reserve and contains many endemic species, including forty-five endemic bird species. Geography This reserve is within the commune of Begogo, in Anosy Region and east of Betroka. The Kalambatritra massif is a series of undulating hills and steep summits and is part of the Antaivondro-Kalambatritra mountain chain. The many small streams feed the Ionaivo, Mananara and Mandrare rivers. The dominant ethnic group in the area is the Bara people. Isalo National Park
Isalo National Park is a National Park in the Ihorombe Region of Madagascar, in the southwestern corner of the Province of Fianarantsoa. The closest town is Ranohira, and the closest cities are Toliara and Ihosy. It is a sandstone landscape that has been dissected by wind and water erosion into rocky outcrops, plateaus, extensive plains and up to deep canyons. There are permanent rivers and streams as well as many seasonal watercourses. Elevation varies between .
