Igor Ustinsky
Igor Ustinsky (born June 14, 1994) is a Russian ice hockey goaltender. He is currently playing with Zauralie Kurgan of the Supreme Hockey League (VHL). Ustinsky was selected by Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the first round (21st overall) of the 2011 KHL Junior Draft. Zauralie Kurgan
Zauralie Kurgan (Хоккейный клуб «Зауралье» Курган) is an ice hockey team in Kurgan, Kurgan Oblast, Russia. They play in the VHL, the second level of Russian ice hockey. History The club was founded in 1994 as a merger between clubs Mostovik (Bridge Worker) and Turbinka (Turbine) as Mostovik-Turbinka Kurgan later becoming a farm club of Rubin Tyumen. It got its current name Zauralie (Trans-Ural) since the 2003–04 season. They became affiliated with Sibir Novosibirsk of the Kontinental Hockey League in 2008, Avangard Omsk in 2012 and Metallurg Novokuznetsk in 2014. Kontinental Hockey League
The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL; russian: Континентальная хоккейная лига (КХЛ), Kontinental'naya khokkeynaya liga) is an international professional ice hockey league founded in 2008. It comprises member clubs based in Russia (19), Belarus (1), Kazakhstan (1) and China (1) for a total of 22 clubs. It was considered in 2015 to be the premier professional ice hockey league in Europe and Asia, and the second-strongest in the world behind North America's National Hockey League. 2014–15 KHL Season
The 2014–15 KHL season was the seventh season of the Kontinental Hockey League. The season started on 3 September with the Opening Cup between defending champions Metallurg Magnitogorsk and Dynamo Moscow, replacing Lev Praha, last year's runner up not participating this season. Team changes Prior to the season, the KHL added three more teams: Jokerit from Helsinki, Lada Togliatti (an earlier member of the KHL that spent the last four seasons in the VHL) and HC Sochi, an expansion team from Sochi. HC Donbass did not play in the league this season, due to Russian invasion of Ukraine which culminated in a devastating fire at their home arena. Donbass intended to rejoin KHL for the 2015–16 season, but ultimately joined the new Ukrainian Hockey Extra League. HC Lev Praha didn't participate in KHL this season either, because of financial problems. 2011 KHL Junior Draft
The 2011 KHL Junior Draft was the third entry draft held by the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), taking place on 28 May 2011 in Mytishchi Arena. Ice hockey players from around the world aged between 17 and 21 years of age were selected. Players eligible to take part in the draft were required to not have an active contract with a KHL, MHL or VHL team. The Supreme Hockey League (SHL) (russian: Высшая хоккейная лига (ВХЛ), links=no, ''Vysshaya hokkeinaya liga (VHL)''), also known as the Major Hockey League or Higher Hockey League (HHL), is a professional ice hockey league in Eurasia, and the second highest level of Russian hockey. Metallurg Magnitogorsk (russian: Металлург Магнитогорск) is a professional ice hockey team based in Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia. They are members of the Kharlamov Division of the Kontinental Hockey League. They also competed in the Champions Hockey League, losing the 2008–09 season championship round to Swiss club, the ZSC Lions. In ice hockey, the goaltender (commonly referred to as the goalie) is the player responsible for preventing the hockey puck from entering their team's net, thus preventing the opposing team from scoring. The goaltender mostly plays in or near the area in front of the net called the '' goal crease'' (often referred to simply as '' the crease'').
