Igor Troubetzkoy
Prince Igor Nikolayevich Troubetzkoy (; 23 August 1912 – 20 December 2008) was a French aristocrat and athlete (skiing, cycling, car racing) of Russian descent. Early life and family Prince Igor Nikolayevich Troubetzkoy was born on 23 August 1912 in Paris, France. He was a member of the princely Trubetskoy family. His brother, Youcca Troubetzkoy, was an actor in French films during the 1920s and 1930s. Career Being a good skier and athlete (cycling) in younger years, Igor started automobile racing in 1947 in a Simca-Gordini, taking a bronze at the Coupe de l'Agaci (Oct 26, 1947). The Mille Miglia (, ''Thousand Miles'') was an open-road, motorsport Endurance racing (motorsport), endurance race established in 1927 by the young Counts :it:Franco Mazzotti, Francesco Mazzotti and Aymo Maggi. It took place in Italy 24 times from 1927 to 1957 (13 times before World War II, and 11 times from 1947). Like the older Targa Florio and later the Carrera Panamericana in Mexico, the ''MM'' made grand tourers like Alfa Romeo, BMW, Ferrari, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche famous. Lance Graf von Haugwitz-Hardenberg-Reventlow, (February 24, 1936 – July 24, 1972) was a British-born American entrepreneur, racing driver and heir to the Woolworth fortune. Reventlow was the only child of heiress Barbara Hutton and her second husband, Count Kurt von Haugwitz-Hardenberg-Reventlow. His stepfathers included actor Cary Grant and Prince Igor Troubetzkoy. Ferrari 166 Inter
The Ferrari 166 Inter was Ferrari's first true grand tourer. An evolution of the 125 S and 166 S racing cars, it was a sports car for the street with coachbuilt bodies. The Inter name commemorated the victories claimed in 166 S models by Scuderia Inter. 38 units of the 166 Inter were built from 1948 through 1950. Note that both the 166 S and 166 F2 were also called "166 Inter" in the days that they were actively raced by the Scuderia of the same name. The Targa Florio was a public road Endurance racing (motorsport), endurance automobile race held in the mountains of Sicily near the island's capital of Palermo, Sicily, Palermo. Founded in 1906 Targa Florio, 1906, it was the oldest sports car racing event, part of the World Sportscar Championship between 1955 and 1973.
