Ignacio Estrada
Ignacio Estrada (1946 – January 28, 2024) was an American ventriloquist based in South Texas. Life Ignacio “Nacho” Estrada was born in Edinburg, to María (Nieves) Estrada and Salvador Estrada, and was known for his two puppets, Maclovio and Tortiya Monster. He moved to Eagle Pass and worked as a teacher in special education. Lived in Uvalde for a while. He eventually settled down in San Antonio to raise his family. Ignacio Estrada died on January 28, 2024, at age 77, at his home in San Antonio after a lengthy illness. Ventriloquism
Ventriloquism or ventriloquy is an act of stagecraft in which a person (a ventriloquist) speaks in such a way that it seems like their voice is coming from a different location, usually through a puppet known as a "dummy". The act of ventriloquism is ventriloquizing, and in English it is commonly called the ability to "throw" one's voice. History Origins Originally, ventriloquism was a religious practice. South Texas is a geographic and cultural region of the U.S. state of Texas that lies roughly south of—and includes—San Antonio. Edinburg ( ) is a city in and the county seat of Hidalgo County, Texas, United States. Puppet
A puppet is an object, often resembling a human, animal or Legendary creature, mythical figure, that is animated or manipulated by a person called a puppeteer. Puppetry is an ancient form of theatre which dates back to the 5th century BC in ancient Greece. There are many different varieties of puppets, and they are made from a wide range of materials, depending on their form and intended use. They range from very simple in construction and operation to very complex.
