Ignace Abdo Khalifé, Society of Jesus, SJ (10 May 1914 in Wady Chahrour, Lebanon – 7 July 1998) was the first Eparch of the Maronite Catholic Eparchy of Saint Maron of Sydney in Australia. Life Ignace Khalife joined the Society of Jesus, SJ and received his ordination to the priesthood on 24 August 1943. On 20 March 1970 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI Auxiliary Bishop, Auxiliary bishop and Patriarchal Vicar of Antioch and Titular Bishop, Titular bishop (pro hac vice) of Apamea in Syria of the Maronites. Ignace Heinrich (31 July 1925 – 9 January 2003) was a French athlete who competed mainly in the decathlon. He was born in Ebersheim, Bas-Rhin, Alsace. He competed for France in the decathlon at the 1948 Summer Olympics held in London, Great Britain, winning a silver medal. Ignace Morgenstern
Ignace Morgenstern (5 June 1900 – 26 January 1961) was a Hungarian-born French film producer. He was the owner of Cocinor, one of the largest French film distributors of the 1950s. Career Morgenstern was born in 1900 to a Jewish family in Mád, then part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. After emigrating to France he worked for Osso Films until the company went bankrupt in 1934. He moved to Lille where he helped establish a branch of the distributor SEDIF. In 1939 he was conscripted into the French Army. Following the Fall of France in 1940 he and his family sheltered on a farm they rented in Frontenas in the unoccupied zone of Vichy France. Following the Liberation of France in 1944 he re-established SEDIF. In 1948 he acquired the assets of the company from Joseph Lucachevitch and established his own distribution company Cocinor, based in Paris. Nzoko Ignace "Iggy" Moleka is a retired Congolese footballer who predominantly played as a midfielder in the United States and Japan. Playing career In 1991, Moleka received a scholarship to play soccer at Florida International University. He left FIU at the end of the season. In 1993, he played for Topaz Haiti, a selection of top players from the Haitian league, in the Miami Copa Latina. In 1994, he played for the Haitian Internationals. Ignace Mobarak (26 September 1876 in Rismayya, Lebanon – 19 May 1958 in Beirut, Lebanon) was an Archeparch of the Maronite Catholic Archeparchy of Beirut. Ignace Michiels (born 7 December 1963) is a Belgian organist, choral conductor and organ teacher. He is internationally known as a concert organist. Career Michiels studied the organ, the piano and the harpsichord at the music academy of Bruges. In 1986 he won a prize at the Lemmensinstituut in Leuven. He continued his studies with Robert Anderson at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, with Herman Verschraegen at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, and with Odile Pierre at the Conservatoire de Paris where he graduated with a Prix d'Excellence. Ignace, Ontario
Ignace is a township in the Kenora District of Northwestern Ontario, Canada, located at Highway 17 (Trans Canada Highway) and Secondary Highway 599, and on the Canadian Pacific Railway between Thunder Bay and Dryden, Ontario. It is on the shore of Agimak Lake, and as of 2021, the population of Ignace was 1,206. History The town was named after Ignace Mentour by Sir Sandford Fleming in 1879. Ignace Mentour was the key Indigenous guide through this region during Fleming's 1872 railway survey, recorded in George Monro Grant's journal of the survey, ''Ocean to Ocean''. Mentour had also served with Sir George Simpson in Simpson's final years as governor of Rupert's Land. During Ignace's early days, there was a settlement of railway boxcars used by the English residents there called "Little England". Ignace Xavier Joseph Leybach (17 July 1817 – 23 May 1891) was a French pianist, organist, music educator and a composer of salon piano music. Career Born in Gambsheim, Alsace, Leybach had his early training as an organist with Joseph Wackenthaler (1795–1869), the organist and ''maître de chapelle'' of the Strasbourg Cathedral, and then was a pupil in Paris of Friedrich Kalkbrenner and of Chopin. He was a famous pianist in his time, but is largely remembered for a single piece, his Fifth Nocturne, Op. 52, for solo piano; it is still in print. His ''Fantaisie élégante'' uses familiar themes from Gounod's ''Faust''. From 1844 he was organist at the cathédrale Saint-Étienne, Toulouse, succeeding Justin Cadaux.
