Iftikhar Hussain Shah
Lieutenant General Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah (14 March 1949 – 15 March 2020) was a governor of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Early life and education Syed was born on 14 March 1949 into a family belonging to the Mian (tribe). Military Career & Later Life Iftikhar Hussain Shah was commissioned in the Pakistan Army in October 1964 in 30th PMA Long Course and joined an anti-aircraft unit of the Regiment of Artillery. He later joined and graduated from Army Aviation School to become a pilot in the army. In 1993, Iftikhar Hussain Shah served in the ISI as the Deputy DG of the External Wing of the ISI under Lt Gen Javed Ashraf Qazi. and in 2000 he was promoted to Lieutenant General. He was close to General Pervez Musharraf and after retiring he served as Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Federal Minister for Communications, and served as Pakistani ambassador to Turkey. Governor Of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the appointed head of state of the provincial government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly North-West Frontier Province), Pakistan. Although the governor is the head of the province on paper, it is largely a ceremonial position; and the main powers lie with the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and chief secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, throughout the history of Pakistan, the powers of the provincial governors were vastly increased, when the provincial assemblies were dissolved and the administrative role came under direct control of the governors, as in the cases of martial laws of 1958–1972 and 1977–1985, and governor rules of 1999–2002. Mian (tribe)
The Mian ( ur, ) is a Pakistani noble Arain family who were the owner of Ishaqpura region, the territory where Mughal Empire wanted to build a Garden named as Shalimar in Lahore. The family was ranked at authorities by Mughals for their services for the community. The Mughal emperors were attribute them and gave family the title of 'Mian' from Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Mian Muhammad Yousaf, then family head, gifted his ancestral land to emperor in lieu of a garden. The project was finished by 1642 AD and emperor Shah Jahan had granted the area back to same family as being the custodians of the site. Since that day to Ayub Khan's martial law the Shalimar Garden was under the care of same family. With passage of time their extended family also adopted Mian title. Zulfiqarabad
Zulfiqarabad ( ur, ), is a proposed new city in Thatta District, Sindh, Pakistan around 150 kilometers south-east from Karachi. Zulfikarabad Development Authority was established in 2010 to establish and operate the city. The same year 60,000 acres (242 square kilometre) of land was identified by the Government of Sindh in Southern Sindh. The proposal further states an establishment of a port in Keti Bandar to be connected to the city. The project is likely to be expanded to 1.32 million acres of land across four talukas of Thatta district, Jati, Shah Bunder, Keti Bunder and Kharo Chan. Authorities plan to reclaim 0.967 million acres of land from the sea. According to IUCN, the project would likely have negative impact of the project on Marho Kotri Wildlife Sanctuary. Lieutenant General is a Three-star rank, three-star army officer rank in the Pakistan Army. It is equivalent to a vice admiral in the Pakistan Navy and an air marshal in the Pakistan Air Force.
