The Idice is a river in the Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna regions of Italy. The source of the river is in the province of Florence near Monghidoro in the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano mountains. The river flows north into the province of Bologna near Monterenzio before being joined by the Savena east of Bologna. The river then curves eastward and flows near Castenaso and Budrio before flowing into the province of Ferrara. Monterenzio ( Medial Mountain Bolognese: ) is a town and ''comune'' in the Metropolitan City of Bologna (Emilia-Romagna, Italy). Geography The territory of the municipality rises on the ridge between the valleys of the Idice and Sillaro streams. The eleven rural units that make up the territory date back to the Pre-Napoleonic era. The Sillaro (; ; ) is a long Italian stream, whose headwaters are by the village of Piancaldoli, Province of Florence, in Tuscany. It runs northeast through the city of Castel San Pietro Terme, Province of Bologna, in Emilia-Romagna. The river runs through a short extension of the province of Ravenna extending into the Province of Bologna before re-entering the Province of Bologna. It then forms the border between the Province of Ferrara and the Province of Ravenna for a short distance before entering the Province of Ferrara. Budrio ( Eastern Bolognese: ) is a town and ''comune'' in the Metropolitan City of Bologna, in Emilia-Romagna, Italy; it is east of Bologna. Budrio is the birthplace of Giuseppe Barilli, better known under his pseudonym of Quirico Filopanti, an Italian mathematician and politician. History The area around Burdio was a Roman colony, whose territory was divided between veteran legionaries. The current town was however founded in the 10th-11th centuries AD. Argenta ( Argentano: ) is a town and ''county'' in the province of Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna. It is located about southeast of Ferrara, and midway between Ferrara and Ravenna. Geography Argenta is situated in a flat agricultural region near the Valli di Comacchio lagoon wetlands.
