Ichhapuran
''Ichhapuran'' (Wish Fulfilment) is a 1970 Bengali comedy drama film directed by Mrinal Sen produced by the Children’s Film Society, based on the same name short story of Rabindranath Tagore. This is the only children’s film made by director Mrinal Sen in his entire career. Plot It revolves around the life of a young mischievous boy Sushil and his school teacher father Subal. Sushil is not interested in studies at all and always likea to play. He wishes to be like his father, having liberty to enjoy life like an adult person can. On the other hand Subal also wishes to be young like Sushil. One day their wishes are fulfilled by God and their bodies get swapped. After huge confusion and comical situation they finally desire to get back to their original selves. Mrinal Sen
Mrinal Sen ( ; 14 May 1923 – 30 December 2018) was a Bengali film director and screenwriter known for his work primarily in Cinema of West Bengal, Bengali, and a few Hindi cinema, Hindi and Telugu cinema, Telugu language films. Regarded as one of the finest Indian filmmakers, along with his contemporaries Satyajit Ray, Ritwik Ghatak, and Tapan Sinha, Sen played a major role in India's parallel cinema movement, which offered a realistic, socially aware counterpoint to splashy Bollywood films, as well as in the country's New Wave cinema. He also served as the President of Film and Television Institute of India, FTII from 1984 to 1986. Shekhar Chatterjee
Shekhar Chatterjee (1924–1990) was an Indian actor and film director. Career Chatterjee was born in Kolkata in 1924. He began his career in the Bengali theatre in the 1950s. He was associated with a number of leftist theatre groups, including the Communist Party's Indian People's Theatre Association, Utpal Dutt's Little Theatre Group, and Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop, as well as his own group, Theatre Unit, which he formed in 1958. As a stage actor he was well known for his Shakespearean roles and for playing Shardul Singh in Dutt's 1965 play ''Kallol''. His directorial work focused on works by German-language playwrights Bertold Brecht, Friedrich Dürrenmatt, Peter Handke, and Franz Xaver Kroetz. Sadhu Meher
Sadhu Meher (1939/1940 – 2 February 2024) was an Indian actor, director and producer. Life and career Meher performed in both Odia and Hindi films. He began his career in Hindi films such as ''Bhuvan Shome'', '' Ankur'', and '' Mrigaya''. Later he shifted his interest towards Odia films. He was one of the actors who gained prominence in Parallel Cinema in the mid-1980s. Meher also acted in '' Byomkesh Bakshi'' in the episodes "Aadim Shatru (Part 1 & 2)" and "Chakrant" as Anadi Haldar and Bishupal respectively. Meher won a National Film Award for Best Actor for ''Ankur''.
