Ibrahim Hegazi
Ibrahim Hegazi (April 1944 – 3 January 2022) was an Egyptian prominent pioneer sports journalist and politician. He was Al-Ahram Magazine sports editor-in-chief for 19 years before leaving the position to join politics. He was appointed to the Egyptian Senate in 2021 and headed the Senate committee on Youth and Sports until his death in 2022. Career Hegazi graduated from Higher Institute of Physical Education in El-Haram in 1967. He joined the Egyptian army and served in the special forces and parachute corps. He left military service in 1975 to join Al-Ahram newspaper as a reporter. Ten years after joining the Al-Ahram newspaper he won Mustafa and Ali Amin Prize for written journalism in 1985. In 1990, he established '' Al Ahram Al Riyadi'' (the first sports magazine in Egypt) and served as its editor-in-chief for 19 years. Sports journalism is a form of writing that reports on matters pertaining to sporting topics and competitions. Sports journalism has its roots in coverage of horse racing and boxing in the early 1800s, mainly targeted towards elites, and into the 1900s transitioned into an integral part of the news business with newspapers having dedicated sports sections. The increased popularity of sports amongst the middle and lower class led to the more coverage of sports content in publications. The appetite for sports resulted in sports-only media such as ''Sports Illustrated'' and ESPN. There are many different forms of sports journalism, ranging from play-by-play and game recaps to analysis and investigative journalism on important developments in the sport. Al-Ahram
''Al-Ahram'' (; ), founded on 5 August 1876, is the most widely circulating Egyptian daily newspaper, and the second-oldest after '' Al-Waqa'i' al-Misriyya'' (''The Egyptian Events'', founded 1828). It is majority owned by the Egyptian government, and is considered a newspaper of record for Egypt. Given the many varieties of Arabic language, ''Al-Ahram'' is widely considered an influential source of writing style in Arabic. Al Ahram Al Riyadi
''Al Ahram Al Riyadi'' is an Arabic weekly sports magazine published in Cairo, Egypt. It has been in circulation since 1990. History and profile ''Al Ahram Al Riyadi'' was first published in 1990. It focuses on sports news. The magazine is published weekly by Al Ahram Organisation which also publishes ''Al Ahram Weekly'', '' Al Siyassa Al Dawliya'', '' Al Ahram Al Arabi'', '' Al Ahram Al Iktisadi'' and ''Al Ahram''. Anwar Abdrabou and Ibrahim Hegazi are the former editors-in-chief of the magazine. On 28 June 2014, Khaled Tawheed was appointed editor-in-chief of the weekly. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi
Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil El-Sisi (born 19 November 1954) is an Egyptian politician and retired military officer who has been serving as the sixth and current president of Egypt since 2014. After the 2011 Egyptian revolution and 2012 election of Mohamed Morsi to the Egyptian presidency, the first democratic election in the history of the country, Sisi was appointed Minister of Defense and Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces in August 2012, replacing Hussein Tantawi.
