Ibrahim Buhari (born 8 October 2001) is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for the Swedish club Elfsborg. Club career Buhari was a starter for Plateau United in his second season with 6 goals in 38 matches, and helped them come second in the Nigeria Professional Football League. On 29 September 2022, he moved to the Swedish club Elfsborg on a contract until 2026. International career In May 2022, Buhari was called up to the senior Nigeria national team for a set of friendlies. In March 2023, he was called up to the Nigeria U23s for qualification matches for the 2024 Olympics. Idrottsföreningen Elfsborg, more commonly known as IF Elfsborg or simply Elfsborg (), is a professional football club based in Borås, Sweden, and is affiliated to the Västergötlands Fotbollförbund. They play in the Allsvenskan and have spent most of their history in the top tier of Swedish football. Their homeground is Borås Arena, where they have played since 17 April 2005. The association football tournament at the 2024 Summer Olympics will be held from 24 July to 10 August 2024 in France. In addition to the Olympic host city of Paris, matches will also be played in Bordeaux, Décines-Charpieu, Marseille, Nantes, Nice and Saint-Étienne. Associations affiliated with FIFA may send teams to participate in the tournament. Men's teams are restricted to under-23 players (born on or after 1 January 2001) with a maximum of three overage players allowed, while there are no age restrictions on women's teams.
