Iboyaima Khuman (born 1 March 1953) is a prominent Shumang Kumhei (Courtyard theatre) artist born in Manipur, India. He has been conferred best actor, best director awards in his long journey in Shumang Kumhei, a unique traditional Manipuri Art form not found in any parts of the globe. Early life ''Iboyaima Khuman'' grew up as a timid and reserved boy since childhood. Shumang Kumhei
Shumang Kumhei ( mni, /sū.máŋ kūm-hə́i/), also known as Shumang Leela (), is a Meitei traditional form of theatre, usually performed in Manipur, North East India. The theatre is arranged in the form of open air from four sides. The roles are all played by male actors, some dressed as beautiful ladies. The role of male characters are played by female artists in case of female theatre groups. This traditional theatre form was prevalent since the time of monarchical rule in Manipur. But the proper form of ''Shumang Leela'' had its inception in 1895 A.D. The present day Shumang Leelas address the issues of moral values, unity and integrity. Oken Amakcham is an Indian film director, music director and actor who works in Manipuri films. He started his career in theatre and performing arts. He is a recipient of the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Manipuri for the movie '' Mayophygee Macha'' at the 42nd National Film Awards. Oinam Gautam Singh (popularly known as ''O. Gautam'') is an Indian film director and editor who works in Manipuri films.
