Ianis Stoica
Ianis Ilie Stoica (; born 8 December 2002) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a forward or an winger for Liga I club Hermannstadt. After representing Petrolul Ploiești, SC Freiburg, and FCSB at junior level, Stoica made his professional debut for the latter team in 2017, aged 14. In the next years, he was loaned out multiple times to fellow Liga I and Liga II clubs, before signing for Hermannstadt in 2024. Internationally, Stoica has represented Romania from under-16 up to under-21 level. Club career Early career Stoica started his career in 2009 in the academy of Petrolul Ploiești, the same year his father Pompiliu signed a professional contract with the club. Fotbal Club FCSB (), formerly named and still sometimes referred to as FC Steaua București, is a Romanian professional football club based in Bucharest. It has spent its entire history in the Liga I, the top flight of the Romanian football league system. The original ''Steaua București'' football team was founded in 1947 and belonged to the Ministry of National Defence, through the namesake CSA Steaua București sports club. In 1998, the football department and its facilities were separated from the latter and taken over by a group of shareholders in a post-Ceaușescu privatisation scheme, leading to one of the shareholders acquiring full ownership five years later. The Liga 2, most commonly spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07 football season. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company under the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Since its inception in 1934, Liga II has had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. 2020–21 Liga II
The 2020–21 Liga II (also known as 2020–21 Liga II Casa Pariurilor) was the 81st season of the Liga II, the second tier of the Romanian football league system. A total of 21 teams contested the league, instead of 20, due to the no relegation rule imposed in the previous season by the suspension of the league due to COVID-19 pandemic. It was the fifth Liga II season with a single series. In the regular season each team played every other team once, followed by a promotion play-off and a relegation play-out. The first two teams promoted to Liga I at the end of the season and the third-placed and fourth-placed team played a play-off match against the 13th-placed and 14th-placed team from Liga I. 2018–19 Liga I
The 2018–19 Liga I (also known as Liga 1 Betano for sponsorship reasons) was the 101st season of the Liga I, the top professional league for Romanian association football clubs. The season began on 20 July 2018 and ended on 2 June 2019, being the fourth to take place since the play-off/play-out rule has been introduced. FC Dunărea Călărași, Dunărea Călărași and FC Hermannstadt, Hermannstadt joined as the promoted clubs from the 2017–18 Liga II. CFR Cluj managed to defend the title for the first time in their history, while FCSB became the first team in the country to finish as runners-up for four consecutive seasons.
