Ian Turner (Irish Footballer)
Ian Turner (born 30 April 1989) is an Irish former professional footballer who played in the League of Ireland throughout his career. He started his career with Cork City, who he spent six and a half seasons with. He also spent two and a half years with Limerick and St Patrick's Athletic where he spent a year and a half, before playing for Cobh Ramblers for three years where he retired in January 2022. Career Youth Turner began his local career with Wilton United, where he was spotted by Cork City scouts. He made his way through City's youth ranks and was part of a hugely successful side that won the National Under 21 League. Turned and his teammates also played for the club's Futsal side in 2009 as they won the FAI Futsal Cup. Wilton, Cork
Wilton is a suburb of Cork City. It is the site of Cork University Hospital, Cork's largest hospital. Other landmarks include Wilton Shopping Centre and St. Finbarr's Cemetery, which lies on the border between Wilton and Glasheen and is the resting place of some of Cork's most notable citizens. Amenities Wilton Shopping Centre has a number of stores (including Tesco, Penneys, and New Look), with Aldi and Lidl stores also in the area. 2011 League Of Ireland First Division
The 2011 League of Ireland First Division season was the 27th season of the League of Ireland First Division. The First Division was contested by 11 teams and Cork City won the title. Teams Overview This season the division featured 11 clubs. This was because Sporting Fingal withdrew from the Premier Division shortly before the season was due to start. Drogheda United, who were originally due to play in the 2011 First Division after being relegated from the 2010 Premier Division, were drafted in to replace Sporting Fingal in the top division. Each team played the other teams three times, totaling 30 games. Cork City finished as champions and were automatically promoted to the Premier Division. The Munster Senior Cup is an association football cup competition organized by the Munster Football Association. Entrants include League of Ireland clubs such as Cork City, Cobh Ramblers and Waterford who are affiliated to the MFA, as well as clubs from the Munster Senior League. Martin Russell (footballer)
Martin Christopher Russell (born 27 April 1967 in Dublin) is an Irish former professional footballer who played in the English Football League for Birmingham City, Leicester City, Scarborough and Middlesbrough. He also played for Portadown in the Irish Football League and for St Patrick's Athletic in the League of Ireland. He managed UCD for five seasons, winning the League of Ireland First Division in 2009. He was the assistant manager of St Patrick's Athletic in 2014 from January until July when he took over as manager of Limerick He left Limerick by mutual consent in April 2017. John Caulfield (born 11 October 1964) is a retired League of Ireland footballer, he has been the manager of Galway United F.C. since August 2020. Caulfield spent the majority of his playing career at Cork City F.C. and was a prominent member of the team that won the 1992–93 League of Ireland Premier Division. He was also the League of Ireland Premier Division Top Scorer in both 1991–92 League of Ireland Premier Division, 1991–92 and 1994–95 League of Ireland Premier Division, 1994–95.
