Ian Moir
Ian James Moir (1932–1990) was an Australian professional rugby league footballer, a champion wing three-quarter who played in the 1950s and 1960s for South Sydney and Western Suburbs. He made eight Test appearances for the Australian national representative side and represented in four World Cup matches in two World Cups and in 14 Kangaroo tour matches. Rugby league career Moir was a prodigious try scorer and played in South Sydney's three Premiership victories between 1953 and 1955. In 1953 he scored three tries in the 31–12 grand final against St George, capping off a season where he was Souths leading try scorer with a tally of 23. This total stands in 3rd place in the club's all-time list of most tries in a season. He debuted for Australia in the inaugural World Cup in France in 1954. Nelson Bay, New South Wales
Nelson Bay is a significant township of the Port Stephens local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. It is located on a bay of the same name on the southern shore of Port Stephens about by road north-east of Newcastle, its nearest rail link. At th2021 census Nelson Bay had a population of 6,141. Alex Johnston (rugby League)
Alex Johnston (born 14 January 1995) is a professional rugby league footballer who primarily plays on the for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the National Rugby League. He has played for both and at international level. He played for the Indigenous All Stars and the Prime Minister's XIII at representative level, and won the 2014 NRL Grand Final with the South Sydney club. Johnston is 2nd highest try scorer in Australian first-grade rugby league history. National Rugby League Season 2004
The 2004 NRL season (also known as the 2004 Telstra Premiership due to sponsorship from Telstra) was the 97th season of professional rugby league football in Australia, and the seventh run by the National Rugby League. Fifteen clubs competed during the regular season before the top eight finishing teams contested the finals series. The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs defeated the Sydney Roosters in the 2004 NRL grand final and in doing so claimed their eighth premiership. Pre-season The beginning of the season was largely overshadowed with several Bulldogs players questioned by police in relation to an alleged rape of a 20-year-old Coffs Harbour woman. An independent investigator, former New South Wales chief of detectives, would later fail to find any evidence of misconduct on behalf of the players, and no charges were pressed.
