Ian Casady
Ian Casady is an American professional ballet dancer who currently performs as a principal dancer with the Houston Ballet. Born in Marin County, California, Casady trained there with Jody White and David Roxander at Dance Theater Seven beginning when he was nine or ten, then studied at Houston Ballet's Ben Stevenson Academy. Casady joined Houston Ballet in 1998 after auditioning for the summer program, and then joining the company in the spring, he was then promoted to soloist in 2002, and to principal dancer in March 2007. His repertoire includes the Prince and Drosselmeyer in ''The Nutcracker'', Marc Antony in ''Cleopatra'', ''Giselle'', ''Swan Lake'', ''The Snow Maiden'', and ''Peter Pan''. Ben Stevenson (dancer)
Ben Stevenson OBE (born 4 April 1936), is a former ballet dancer with Britain's Royal Ballet and English National Ballet, co-director of National Ballet of Washington, D.C. (1971–1974), artistic director of Chicago Ballet (1974-1975), artistic director of Houston Ballet (1976–2003), and artistic director of Texas Ballet Theater (2003–2022). Early life A native of Portsmouth, England, Stevenson received his dance training at the Arts Educational School in London. Dominic Walsh Dance Theater (DWDT) was a contemporary dance company based in Houston Texas, Houston, Texas. Started by artistic director and former principal dancer for the Houston Ballet, Dominic Walsh, DWDT ranged from progressive to classical choreography. Dominic Walsh joined the Houston Ballet in 1989, rising to Principal Dancer in 1996. In 1998, he created Flames of Eros when Ben Stevenson (dancer), Ben Stevenson invited him to choreograph on Houston Ballet. His work won him the Choo San Goh Award for Choreography. USA International Ballet Competition
The USA International Ballet Competition, or USA IBC, is one of the world's top competitions for ballet. Located in Jackson, Mississippi, this competition is attended by dancers from all over the world to represent their country for bronze, silver, or gold medals in a variety of categories of ballet in an Olympic-style competition. Founded in 1978 by Thalia Mara, the first USA International Ballet Competition took place in 1979. Natalie Weir (born 1967, Townsville, Queensland) is an Australian choreographer, and Artistic Director for the former Expressions Dance Company in Australia (now Australasian Dance Collective). Education and career Natalie Weir began her dance training with Ann Roberts and performed with Roberts' North Queensland Ballet Company (now Dancenorth) in Townsville.
