Ian Caple
Ian Caple is an English recording engineer, record producer, programmer and mixer. History Caple's career began at EMI Music in 1979. After training at Abbey Road Studios, he became an engineer at EMI's KPM studios in Denmark Street London. He worked with Shriekback on their early albums at KPM as well as Kate Bush Simple Minds and Adam & The Ants. He left in 1984 to work as a freelance engineer/producer/programmer and mixer. The Colourfield (initially The Colour Field, spelt in one word from 1987 onwards) were an English band formed in 1984 in Manchester, England when former Specials and Fun Boy Three frontman Terry Hall joined up with Karl Shale and ex-Swinging Cats member Toby Lyons. Despite the fact that all three members were from Coventry, the band was based in Manchester. The Hell EP
''The Hell E.P.'' is a collaboration EP by English trip hop artist Tricky (musician), Tricky and American hip hop group Gravediggaz that was released in July 1995 on 4th & B'way Records. The first two tracks, "Hell Is Round the Corner" and its remix, were performed solely by Tricky, the final two tracks, however, were performed by both Tricky and the Gravediggaz. Gravedigga member The Rzarector co-produced the two songs with Tricky. "Psychosis" only featured vocals from Anthony Ian Berkeley, The Grym Reaper, while all three rapping members appeared on "Tonight is a Special Night". The group's producer Prince Paul (producer), The Undertaker did not participate in the recordings. It was mixed in London by Ian Caple. Due to its length, the E.P. was ineligible to make the UK Albums Chart, instead it reached the top 20 on the UK Singles charts entering in at number 12 and spending 3 weeks in the charts. Conny Plank
Konrad "Conny" Plank (3 May 1940 – 5 December 1987) was a German record producer and musician. He is known for his innovative work as a sound engineer and producer in Germany's krautrock and kosmische music scene in the 1970s. Plank was involved in releases by Neu!, Kraftwerk, Cluster, Harmonia, Ash Ra Tempel, Guru Guru, Kraan, and other German groups of the era. He later produced for new wave acts such as D.A.F., Eurythmics and Ultravox. As a billed performer, Plank also formed the group Moebius & Plank, releasing 5 albums between 1979 and 1986. Career 1960s In mid-to-late 60s, Conny attended new-music courses at the Rheinische Musikschule in Cologne, taught by Karlheinz Stockhausen, Luciano Berio, Henri Pousseur, and Earle Brown. Tindersticks (1995 Album)
''Tindersticks'' is the second album by the British alternative band Tindersticks, released in 1995. It is often referred to as ''The Second Tindersticks Album'' to distinguish it from the band's first album, which was also called ''Tindersticks''. It reached no. 13 in the UK Albums Chart. On 17 September 2006, the album was performed live in its entirety at the Barbican Centre in London, as part of the All Tomorrow's Parties-curated Don't Look Back series. The concert was the last time the original six members of Tindersticks played together. Recording The band chose Conny's Studios in Cologne after a recommendation from Blixa Bargeld when Tindersticks were supporting Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds on their tour of the UK in 1993. The group spent a week at Conny's Studios in May 1994 where most of the backing tracks for the album were recorded. ''Tindersticks'' is the debut album by the chamber pop band Tindersticks, released in the UK on 11 October 1993 on This Way Up. Following positive reviews for their early singles and live performances, it was released to widespread critical acclaim by the music press, eventually being named album of the year by the UK music magazine ''Melody Maker''. Release and promotion The album was released on CD and as a double vinyl album which featured a bonus track, "Fruitless", that was not included on the CD (on the CD's track listing "Fruitless" is crossed out). East Village (band)
Formed in the mid-1980s by two brothers, Martin and Paul Kelly, East Village were an indie pop band from Princes Risborough, England. Their music drew heavily on the influence of 1960s guitar bands such as the Byrds, the Beatles, and Buffalo Springfield and like those groups East Village also featured three songwriters / lead vocalists. Though the bands output troubled only the lower reaches of the UK indie charts they have gone on to earn cult status since their break up in the early 1990s. The Wolfhounds are an English noise pop band formed in Romford, Essex, in 1985 by David Callahan, Paul Clark, Andy Golding, Andy Bolton and Frank Stebbing, and originally active until 1990. The band reformed in 2005 and continues to write, record and play live, releasing new albums in 2014, 2016, and 2020.
