I Have A Dream (ABBA Song)
"I Have a Dream" is a song by Swedish pop group ABBA. It was released in December 1979 as the fourth international and final single from the group's sixth studio album, ''Voulez-Vous''. Anni-Frid Lyngstad sang lead vocals. It was a major hit, topping the charts in many countries and peaking at No. 2 in the UK over the Christmas week of 1979. The single was in fact released after the non-album single ''Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)'' and after the release of the compilation ''Greatest Hits Vol. 2'' - which didn't include "I Have a Dream". Twenty years later, Irish pop group Westlife released a version of "I Have a Dream" that reached No. 1 in the UK over the Christmas week of 1999. Ola Brunkert
Ola Brunkert (15 September 1946 – 16 March 2008) was a Swedish drummer who was one of the main session drummers for the pop group ABBA. Brunkert and bassist Rutger Gunnarsson are the only two side musicians to appear on every ABBA album prior to '' Voyage'' (2021). Born in Örebro, Sweden, Brunkert began playing the drums in 1958 and cited jazz drummer Gene Krupa as a significant early influence. He played with Slim's Blues Gang, before joining the pop group Science Poption. He then formed the jazz-rock combo with the guitarist Janne Schaffer, and by 1970 had become one of the most sought-after session drummers in Stockholm. He was not among the four members of ABBA whose faces adorned the album covers, but was a key supporting musician for the group as it achieved stardom. Rutger Gunnarsson
Johan Rutger Gunnarsson (12 February 1946 – 30 April 2015) was a Swedish musician, bass guitarist, guitarist, arranger and producer. He was closely associated with the pop group ABBA. Career Gunnarsson grew up in Ledberg parish. His career began with Björn Ulvaeus in the Hootenanny Singers. He went on to work with ABBA, playing on all their albums and participating in their tours. Agneta Åse "Agnetha" Fältskog (; born 5 April 1950) is a Swedish singer, songwriter, and a former member of the pop group ABBA. She first achieved success in Sweden with the release of her 1968 Agnetha Fältskog (album), self-titled debut album. She rose to international stardom in the 1970s as a member of ABBA, which is one of the List of best-selling music artists, best-selling music acts in history. After the unofficial break-up of ABBA in December 1982, she had success later in the decade as a solo artist with three albums and a leading role in a movie. ''ABBA Live'' is an album of live recordings by Swedish pop group ABBA, released by Polar Music in 1986. History A live album was something that many ABBA fans had demanded for several years. ABBA themselves had toyed with the idea on a couple of occasions, but always decided against it. Finally, four years after the members went their separate ways, a live collection was released after all. The resultant album, ''ABBA Live'', contained recordings from 1977, 1979 and 1981. Janne Schaffer
Jan Erik Tage "Janne" Schaffer (born 24 September 1945) is a Swedish songwriter and guitarist. He is best known for his work as a session guitarist for ABBA but he has also recorded with artists such as Bob Marley, Johnny Nash, Art Farmer and Tony Williams. He also played at the 1977 Montreux Jazz Festival. Schaffer's 1979 album ''Earmeal'' included session work from brothers Jeff, Steve and Mike Porcaro, as well as their father, Joe Porcaro. This is one of the few instances where the entire Porcaro family appears together on one album, the most well-known examples being Toto's ''Toto IV'' and ''The Seventh One''. Schaffer is a member of the Electric Banana Band where he plays guitar as the character 'Zebra'. He also performs with the group ''The Night Agent''.
