I Get Up
"I Get Up" is a song by Australian rock band INXS, released as a non-album single on 10 November 2003. The song was written by Andrew Farriss and Jon Stevens, and was the first new material by INXS since their former frontman, Michael Hutchence, committed suicide on 22 November 1997. Former Noiseworks lead singer Stevens had recently joined the band as lead singer, and the song is the only studio material recorded by INXS with Stevens on vocals. Stevens resigned from INXS by the end of 2003 because of "differing views" about the band's future. INXS (a phonetic play on "in excess") were an Australian rock band, formed as the Farriss Brothers in 1977 in Sydney. Michael Hutchence
Michael Kelland John Hutchence (22 January 1960 – 22 November 1997) was an Australian singer and songwriter. He was the co-founder, lead singer and lyricist of the rock band INXS from 1977 until his death in 1997. The band sold over 50 million records worldwide, making them one of Australia's highest-selling music acts of all time. They were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2001. Hutchence was also a member of the short-lived band Max Q and recorded some solo material, alongside acting in films such as '' Dogs in Space'' (1986) and '' Frankenstein Unbound'' (1990). He was known for his string of love affairs with actresses, models and singers and his private life was often covered in the international press. Rogue Traders is an Australian electronic rock band formed in Melbourne, Victoria in 2002 by mainstay James Ash on keyboards. In 1989, Ash met fellow original member Steve Davis in London while both were working as DJs. Before forming Rogue Traders, the pair had worked together on many projects, including the dance music act Union State, which relocated to Melbourne in 1992. The group's name comes from the 1999 drama film, '' Rogue Trader''. Noiseworks are an Australian hard rock band formed in Sydney in 1986 with bass guitarist Steve Balbi, guitarist Stuart Fraser, drummer Kevin Nicol, keyboardist Justin Stanley and lead vocalist Jon Stevens. "Mystify" is a song by Australian rock band INXS, released the fifth and final single from their sixth studio album, ''Kick'' (1987). The song was written by Andrew Farriss, Michael Hutchence and Tim Farriss as part of the first sessions for ''Kick''. The song was first previewed to Australian audiences on the Australian Made tour in January 1987. Music video The video is a performance-style video shot in black and white, showing the writers of the song, Hutchence and Farriss, starting with part of a piano instrumental version of "Never Tear Us Apart" and seemingly "composing" the song in the studio on a piano. "Need You Tonight" is a song by the Australian rock band INXS, released as the first single from their 1987 album, ''Kick'', as well as the fourth song on the album. It is the only INXS single to reach No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. It also achieved their highest charting position in the United Kingdom, where the song reached number two on the UK Singles Chart; however, this peak was only reached after a re-release of the single in November 1988. On its first run on the UK charts in October 1987, it stalled at No. 58. It was one of the last songs recorded for the album, yet it would arguably become the band's signature song.
