''I Fell in Love'' is the sixth studio album by American country music singer Carlene Carter, released in 1990. This was the highest-ranking Billboard album of her career, at #19 on the US Country charts. Four singles from the album also charted, with the title song "I Fell in Love," and "Come on Back" both reaching #3 as singles. Two lower-charting hits were the #25 "The Sweetest Thing" and the #33 "One Love." The track "Me and the Wildwood Rose" is a tribute to Carter's half-sister, Rosie Nix Adams. " Easy From Now On", a song that Carter cowrote with Susanna Clark in the 1970s, was originally a number 12 hit for Emmylou Harris on the '' Billboard'' Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. Also, "You Are the One," written by Leon Payne, was a top 5 country hit for Carter's father, Carl Smith, in 1956. Carlene Carter (born Rebecca Carlene Smith; September 26, 1955) is an American country music singer and songwriter. She is the daughter of June Carter Cash and her first husband, Carl Smith (country musician), Carl Smith. Since 1978, Carter has recorded 12 albums as of 2020, primarily on major labels. In the same timespan, she has released more than 20 singles, including three number three-peaking hits on the ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' Hot Country Songs charts. Leon Payne
Leon Roger Payne (June 15, 1917 – September 11, 1969), "the Blind Balladeer", was an American country music singer and songwriter. Life He was born in Alba, Texas, United States. He was blind in one eye at birth, and lost the sight in the other eye in early childhood. He attended the Texas School for the Blind from 1924 to 1935. He married Myrtie and they had two children together, as well as two children from Myrtie's previous marriage. Payne died at age 52 from a heart attack in 1969 in San Antonio, Texas. Myrtie died in San Antonio in 2008, and Leon's composition " I Love You Because" was played at her funeral service by pedal steel guitarist Emmett Roch, accompanied by musicians who were members of her church. Keith Christopher (April 27, 1957 – February 23, 1998) was an American actor, singer-songwriter and AIDS activist. Biography Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Christopher performed in Broadway tours across the country, Off-Broadway, and in many of New York's premier clubs and cabarets. Christopher was diagnosed with HIV in 1982, after he had started inexplicably bruising and bleeding while on the road in ''The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas'', where he played a dancing football player. The doctors initially believed he had leukemia, but it turned out to be ITP – a platelet deficiency often associated with HIV. With Christopher's foremost love for music, he sang backup for his fellow singer/PWA, Michael Callen, who died of AIDS related complications in 1993. Robert Ellis Orrall (born May 4, 1955) is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Signed to RCA Records in 1980, Orrall debuted that year with the album "Fixation". His first Top 40 single was "I Couldn't Say No", a duet with Carlene Carter. By 1990, Orrall had found success as a songwriter, having penned Number One singles for Shenandoah (band), Shenandoah and Clay Walker. He returned to RCA in 1991 and charted the singles "Boom! June Carter Cash
Valerie June Carter Cash (June 23, 1929 – May 15, 2003) was an American country singer and songwriter. A five-time Grammy Award–winner, she was a member of the Carter Family and the second wife of singer Johnny Cash. Prior to her marriage to Cash, she was known as June Carter, and she continued to be credited as such even after her marriage (as well as on songwriting credits predating it).
