Laila Mehdin
Laila Mehdi (born 24 October 1980), known mononymously as Laila, is an Indian actress. Making her acting debut in the mid-1990s and later becoming one of the leading actresses throughout the 2000s. She has acted predominantly in Tamil and Telugu films, as well as in a few Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi language films. Tamil cinema is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Tamil language, the main spoken language in the state of Tamil Nadu. ''Kannathil Muthamittal'' (also released internationally as ''A Peck on the Cheek'') is a 2002 Indian Tamil-language musical war film written, produced and directed by Mani Ratnam. It was based on a short story, "Amuthavum Avanum" by Sujatha. The film stars R. Madhavan, Simran and P. S. Keerthana with Nandita Das, J. D.
