ITA Arad
Asociația Fotbal Club UTA Arad (), commonly known as UTA Arad or simply UTA (''Uzina Textilă Arad''; ), is a Romanian professional football club based in the city of Arad, Arad County that competes in the Liga I. The team was founded in 1945 as ''IT Arad'', and has won six national titles and two Cupa României. Domestically, UTA is one of the most successful Romanian sides of the 20th century, sharing with Chinezul Timișoara the record for the most title wins by a club not from Bucharest, earning it the nickname ''Campioana Provinciei'' ("Provincial Champion"), a record which ended after the conclusion of the 2020–21 season when CFR Cluj claimed its seventh Liga I trophy. UTA Arad's decline began with a transfer to the second division in 1979, after which it rarely appeared in the top flight before being dissolved in 2014. Francisc Von Neuman Stadium
Francisc von Neuman Stadium is a football stadium in Arad, Romania. It is built on the site of the former Francisc von Neuman Stadium. The stadium was opened on 28 August 2020 and currently serves as the home for UTA Arad of the Liga I. The stadium shares designing elements from Kirklees Stadium in Huddersfield which is visible in the stands. It is named after a local Jewish Hungarian aristocrat, Francisc von Neumann, a baron who owned several businesses in Arad and personally sponsored the construction of the old stadium and the founding of the team. The first match at the stadium was a Liga I game played between UTA Arad and Voluntari, which ended in a goalless draw. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the game was played without spectators. The first match with spectators was the 2021 women's Romanian Cup final between U Olimpia Cluj and Heniu Prundu Bârgăului, which ended with a 1–0 win in extra-time for the Cluj team. SSU Politehnica Timișoara
Societatea Sportivă Universitară Politehnica Timișoara (), commonly known as SSU Politehnica Timișoara, Politehnica Timișoara or simply Poli Timișoara, is a Romanian professional Association football, football Club (organization), club based in Timișoara, Timiș County, that competes in the Liga III. Originally named ''ASU Politehnica'', the team was formed following the dissolution of the original FC Politehnica Timișoara in 2012. During that year, ACS Recaș was moved to the city and renamed ACS Poli Timișoara, eventually reaching the Liga I, top flight while ''ASU'' struggled in the Romanian football league system, lower leagues. Between the two, the majority of the fans chose to support the latter, and in 2021 ACS Poli was also dissolved. Gyula Lóránt
Gyula Lóránt (born Gyula Lipovics, 6 February 1923 – 31 May 1981) was a Hungarian footballer and manager of Croatian descent. He played as a defender and midfielder for, among others, UTA Arad, Vasas SC, Honvéd and Hungary. During the 1950s, he was a prominent member of the legendary Hungarian national team known as the ''Mighty Magyars'', which also included Ferenc Puskás, Zoltán Czibor, Sándor Kocsis, József Bozsik and Nándor Hidegkuti. After retiring as a player, Lóránt became a coach, most notably with Honvéd, FC Bayern Munich and PAOK Thessaloniki FC. While at PAOK, he guided them to a Greek Championship title in 1976. On 31 May 1981, while still working as coach, he suffered a heart attack, watching PAOK play Olympiacos CFP and died at the game, aged 58. Gusztáv Juhász (also written as Guștav Iuhași; 19 December 1911 – 20 January 2003) was a Romanian football player and coach of Hungarian origin. He played in over 200 matches and scored 10 goals for Club Atletic Oradea. Carmen București was a Romanian football club based in Bucharest. In 2017, Carmen București was refounded and introduced in the Liga IV, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. In the summer of 2019, owner of Carmen bought Sportul Snagov and merged the two entities, following that in the summer of 2020 the club will be renamed as Carmen București. Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1 and officially known as SuperLiga for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Romania and the highest level of the Romanian football league system. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation from and to Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table. Francisc von Neuman Stadium was a multi-purpose stadium in Arad, Romania. It was used mostly for football matches and was the home ground of FC UTA Arad, one of the most successful teams in Romanian club football. The stadium used to hold up to 7,287 people, all on seats, and was built in 1944. In 2014, the stadium was demolished to make way for a new, modern, all-seater stadium. It is to be used exclusively for football, and it was open in 2020.
