Technical Report
A technical report (also scientific report) is a document that describes the process, progress, or results of technical or scientific research or the state of a technical or scientific research problem. It might also include recommendations and conclusions of the research. Unlike other scientific literature, such as scientific journals and the proceedings of some academic conferences, technical reports rarely undergo comprehensive independent peer review before publication. They may be considered as grey literature. Where there is a review process, it is often limited to within the originating organization. Similarly, there are no formal publishing procedures for such reports, except where established locally. Description Technical reports are today a major source of scientific and technical information. They are prepared for internal or wider distribution by many organizations, most of which lack the extensive editing and printing facilities of commercial publishers. Technical re ...

Emergency Management
Emergency management or disaster management is the managerial function charged with creating the framework within which communities reduce vulnerability to hazards and cope with disasters. Emergency management, despite its name, does not actually focus on the management of emergencies, which can be understood as minor events with limited impacts and are managed through the day to day functions of a community. Instead, emergency management focuses on the management of disasters, which are events that produce more impacts than a community can handle on its own. The management of disasters tends to require some combination of activity from individuals and households, organizations, local, and/or higher levels of government. Although many different terminologies exist globally, the activities of emergency management can be generally categorized into preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery, although other terms such as disaster risk reduction and prevention are also common. ISO 22322:2022 (''Security and resilience - Emergency management – Guidelines for public warning'') is an international standard developed by the ISO/TC 292 Security and Resilience committee. It was published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 2015. ISO 22322 provides guidelines for developing and issuing public warnings before, during, and after emergencies. It describes the best methods for issuing a public warning, and guidelines for such warnings. The standard ensures that the public will pay attention to a security alert, take appropriate safety measures, and seek additional information on how to respond to an emergency. Risks and consequences of potential hazards are assessed before planning and implementing the public warning system (that assessment is outside the scope of ISO 22322). A severe emergency might necessitate any effective medium to alert people at risk. The standard is applicable to any organization, domestic or international, tha ...

ISO/TC 223
ISO/TC 223 Societal security was a technical committee of the International Organization for Standardization formed in 2001 to develop standards in the area of societal security: i.e. protection of society from and response to incidents, emergencies, and disasters caused by intentional and unintentional human acts, natural hazards, and technical failures. The sinking of the Russian submarine ''Kursk'' to the bottom of the Barents Sea in 2000 can be cited as a major impetus for the formation of ISO/TC 223. The international salvage operation that followed the accident provided painful evidence that the international community lacked the tools necessary to cooperate effectively in emergency situations, resulting in an initiative from the Russian standards organization, GOST, to establish ISO/TC 223. Originally titled Civil defence, the committee was created to standardize international emergency procedures. The initiative lay dormant for some time. However, terrorist actions, incl ...
