INS Sindhughosh (S55)
INS ''Sindhughosh'' (S55) () is the lead ship of Sindhughosh-class submarine, her class of diesel-electric submarines of the Indian Navy. The submarine was commissioned on 30 April 1986 in Riga, Latvia under the command of Commander K C Varghese. The submarine is diesel-powered and has a total of six motors. INS ''Sindhughosh'' was the first submarine in Indian Navy to be equipped with the Klub ZM-54E SS-N-27 antiship cruise missiles with a range of . The submarine has a displacement of nearly 3,100 tons when submerged, a maximum diving depth of , speed of up to , and is able to operate solo for 45 days with a crew of 52. Strela 3
The 9K34 Strela-3 (, 'arrow', NATO reporting name: SA-14 Gremlin) is a man-portable air defense missile system (MANPADS) developed in the Soviet Union as a response to the poor performance of the earlier Strela 2, 9K32 Strela-2 (SA-7 Grail) system. The missile was largely based on the earlier Strela 2, and thus development proceeded rapidly. The new weapon was accepted into service in the Soviet Army in January 1974. Description The most significant change over the Strela 2 was the introduction of an all-new infra-red homing seeker head. Diu Island
Diu Island is an island off the southern coast of Gujarat's Kathiawar peninsula, separated from the mainland by a tidal creek. It has an area of 38 km2, and a population of 44,110 (2001 census).
