INFLIBNET Centre (Information and Library Network Centre) is an Inter-University Centre of the University Grants Commission (India) under the Ministry of Education (India). The organisation promotes and facilitates libraries and information resources for Indian further education. Its premises are in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Shodhganga, the digital repository of theses and dissertations submitted to universities in India is maintained by INFLIBNET Centre. INFLIBNET also performed an important role as an online learning resources by HRD Ministry during COVID-19 lockdown in India. History INFLIBNET is a major National Programme initiated by the University Grants Commission (India) in March 1991 as a project under the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA). Shodhganga
Shodhganga: a reservoir of Indian theses (Sanskrit: , ; ''Ganga'', the river) is a digital repository of theses and dissertations submitted to universities in India. About It is maintained by INFLIBNET Centre which is an autonomous Inter-University Centre of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India. It was initially located in the campus of Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. INFLIBNET Centre has moved to its new institutional building at infocity, Gandhinagar, capital of Gujarat. And the new Director of the INFLIBNET is Prof Devika P Madalli former professor of DRTC , ISI Banglore. The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) is an autonomous institution set up by the University Grants Commission of India to promote nucleation and growth of active groups in astronomy and astrophysics in Indian universities. An institutional repository (IR) is an archive for collecting, preserving, and disseminating digital copies of the intellectual output of an institution, particularly a research institution. Academics also utilize their IRs for archiving published works to increase their visibility and collaboration with other academics. However, most of these outputs produced by universities are not effectively accessed and shared by researchers and other stakeholders.
