INDUMIL Córdova
The INDUMIL Córdova is a semi-automatic pistol developed by INDUMIL. Made of a fiberglass reinforced polymer, the locked breech system operates by mass recoil. It is the first commercial pistol to have a receiver system with the fire control system. It is initially designed for government agencies and the Military Forces of Colombia; the Córdova became available in late 2015 for the civilian commercial market. Its objective is to make the country self-sufficient in the field of weapons for personal use and carry, and thus replace the importation of this type of weapons. History In early 2014, the first commercial production of 500 units was carried out exclusively for the Ministry of National Defense, planning its export in that year. The tests were positive and the pistol began its commercialization in the Colombian private market, being able to be acquired by some active military, others in retirement, as well as personnel of security companies. After these particular users ...

Semi-automatic Pistol
A semi-automatic pistol (also called a self-loading pistol, autopistol, or autoloading pistol) is a repeating firearm, repeating handgun that automatically ejects and loads cartridge (firearms), cartridges in its chamber (firearms), chamber after every shot fired, but only one round of ammunition is fired each time the Trigger (firearms), trigger is pulled. The pistol's fire control group disconnects the trigger mechanism from the firing pin/striker until the trigger has been released and reset manually, unlike the self-cycled firing mechanism in machine pistol, fully automatic pistols. A semi-automatic pistol recycles part of the energy released by the propellant combustion to move its bolt (firearm), bolt, which is usually housed inside the pistol slide, slide. After a round of ammunition is fired, the spent cartridge casing is extracted and ejected as the slide/bolt moves rearwards under recoil, the hammer (firearms), hammer/striker is cocked by the slide/bolt movement, and a ...

9×19mm Parabellum
The 9×19mm Parabellum (also known as 9mm Luger, 9mm NATO or simply 9mm) is a Rim (firearms)#Rimless, rimless, Centerfire ammunition, centerfire, tapered cartridge (firearms), firearms cartridge. Originally designed by Austrian firearm designer Georg Luger in 1901, it is widely considered the most popular handgun and submachine gun cartridge due to its low cost, adequate stopping power and extensive availability. Since the cartridge was designed for the Luger pistol, Luger semi-automatic pistol, it has been given the designation of ''9mm Luger'' by the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute (SAAMI) and the (CIP). A 2007 US survey concluded that "about 60 percent of the firearms in use by police are 9mm [Parabellum]" and credited 9×19mm Parabellum pistol sales with making semiautomatic pistols more popular than revolvers.Adler, Jerry, et al. Recoil Operation
Recoil operation is an operating mechanism used to implement locked-breech autoloading firearms. Recoil operated firearms use the energy of recoil to cycle the action, as opposed to gas operation or blowback operation using the pressure of the propellant gas. History The earliest mention of recoil used to assist the loading of firearms is sometimes claimed to be in 1663 when an Englishman called Palmer proposed to employ either it or gases tapped along a barrel to do so. However no one has been able to verify this claim in recent times, although there is another automatic gun that dates from the same year, but its type and method of operation are unknown. Recoil-operation, if it was invented in 1663, would then lie dormant until the 19th century, when a number of inventors started to patent designs featuring recoil operation; this was due to the fact that the integrated disposable cartridge (both bullet and propellant in one easily interchangeable unit) made these designs vi ...

Magazine (firearms)
A magazine, often simply called a mag, is an ammunition storage and feeding device for a repeating firearm, either integral within the gun (internal/fixed magazine) or externally attached (detachable magazine). The magazine functions by holding several cartridge (firearms), cartridges within itself and sequentially pushing each one into a position where it may be readily loaded into the gun barrel, barrel chamber (firearms), chamber by the firearm's moving action (firearms), action. The detachable magazine is sometimes colloquially referred to as a "clip (ammunition), clip", although this is technically inaccurate since a clip is actually an accessory device used to help load ammunition into a magazine or cylinder. Magazines come in many shapes and sizes, from integral tubular magazines on lever-action and pump-action rifles and shotguns, that may hold more than five rounds, to detachable box magazines and drum magazines for automatic rifles and light machine guns, that may h ...

Military Forces Of Colombia
The Military Forces of Colombia () are the unified armed forces of the Republic of Colombia. They consist of the Colombian Army, the Colombian Navy and the Colombian Aerospace Force. The National Police of Colombia, although technically not part of the military, is controlled and administered by the Ministry of National Defence, and national conscription also includes service in the National Police, thus making it a '' de facto'' gendarmerie and a branch of the military. The President of Colombia is the military's commander in chief, and helps formulate defense policy through the Ministry of National Defence, which is in charge of day-to-day operations. The Military Forces of Colombia have their roots in the Army of the Commoners (), which was formed on 7 August 1819 – before the establishment of the present day Colombia – to meet the demands of the Revolutionary War against the Spanish Empire. After their triumph in the war, the Army of the Commoners disbanded, and the ...

Born in 1799 to a humble merchant family in the Antioquia Department in the Viceroyalty of New Granada.
