Ankeny Regional Airport
Ankeny Regional Airport is a mile (2 km) southeast of Ankeny, in Polk County, Iowa. It is owned by the Polk County Aviation Authority. Facilities The airport covers at an elevation of 910 feet (277 m). It has two concrete runways: 18/36 is and 4/22 is . The airport opened in February 1994. In the year ending August 19, 2022, the airport had 40,500 general aviation aircraft operations, average 111 per day. In August 2022, 89 aircraft were based at this airport: 74 single-engine, 4 multi-engine, 10 jet and 1 military. Accidents and incidents On February 5, 2008 a Swearingen SA-226AT Merlin IV operated by McNeely Charter Service was involved in an incident. IKV-3 Kotka
The IKV-3 "Kotka" is an FAI Open Class glider that was designed by Tuomo Tervo and Jorma Jalkanen. The prototype first flew in 1966. It was produced initially by IK-Vasama and KK. Lehtovaara. The name IKV is an acronym for Ilmailukerho Vasama, the Vasama gliding club that sponsored the project. Design and development The IKV-3 was designed and the sole example produced between 1964 and 1966. The wings are built from pine with a birch-plywood skin to 55% from the leading edge. The wing employs a Wortmann FX62-K-152 airfoil at the wing root, a Wortmann FX62-K-153 mid-span and a Wortmann FX60-126 at the wing tip. The ailerons are 3.1m long and are constructed with foam plastic ribs and covered with plywood. The wing also features eight-section dive brakes for glidepath control. Illya Kuryaki And The Valderramas
Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas (IKV) is an Argentine musical duo from Buenos Aires, formed in 1991 and consisting of Dante Spinetta and Emmanuel Horvilleur. The duo split in 2001 to follow solo careers, but later performed together several times, and officially reunited in 2011. The duo took their name from a fictional character, the Soviet spy Illya Kuryakin in the hit 1960s TV show '' The Man from U.N.C.L.E.'', and the Colombian football player Carlos Valderrama. Their musical style is extremely wide-ranging, including hip-hop, rock, funk, and salsa. History The duo met as children as a result of the friendship between their parents. Spinetta is the son of musician Luis Alberto Spinetta, and Horvilleur's father is photographer Eduardo Marti. In 1987, when they were 12 and 11 years old respectively, Spinetta, Horvilleur, and younger siblings formed a music group called Pechugo. The Norwegian Coast Guard () is a maritime military force which is part of the Royal Norwegian Navy. The coast guard's responsibility are for fisheries inspection, customs enforcement, border control, law enforcement, shipping inspection, environmental protection, and search and rescue. It operates throughout Norway's exclusive economic zone (EEZ), internal waters and territorial waters. It is headquartered at Sortland Naval Base.
