III Wishes (song)
"III Wishes" is a song by English rock band Terrorvision, which was released in 1999 as the third and final single from their fourth studio album ''Shaving Peaches''. The song was written by Terrorvision and produced by John Cornfield. "III Wishes" reached No. 42 in the UK Singles Chart and remained in the Top 100 for two weeks. Background "III Wishes" failed to live up to the expectations of EMI after the band's success with the UK No. 2 hit "Tequila" earlier in the year. When "III Wishes" stalled at No. 42 in the UK Singles Chart, EMI dropped the band. According to vocalist Tony Wright, distribution and stock issues hindered the song's success. He told ''Metal Express Radio'' in 2013, "When people say 'Tequila' was a bit of luck, it wasn't. It was 15 years of hard graft and given to a numpty at the label who couldn't even get the follow-up single into the shops and we lost all that momentum because of that." Terrorvision
Terrorvision are an English rock band. They were formed in 1987 (as The Spoilt Bratz) in Keighley, West Yorkshire, and initially disbanded in 2001. The band used Bradford as a base after the name change to Terrorvision in 1991, by which time the band members had all moved there. History The re-release of their second single, "My House" (from the album ''Formaldehyde''), in January 1994 proved to be Terrorvision's breakthrough to UK Singles Chart success, and preceded by months the release of their second album '' How to Make Friends and Influence People'' in April 1994. Arthur Baker (born April 22, 1955) is an American record producer and DJ best known for his work with hip hop artists like Afrika Bambaataa and Planet Patrol, as well as British group New Order. He is also known for remixing the Jill Jones song "Mia Bocca" on the 12" single, taken from her self-titled debut album '' Jill Jones'' (1987), released on Prince's Paisley Park Records, as well as remixing the Pet Shop Boys song, " In the Night". His remix of the song was used as the main theme for the BBC TV programme '' The Clothes Show'' between 1986 and 1994. Edwyn Collins
Edwyn Stephen Collins (born 23 August 1959) is a Scottish musician, producer and record label owner. Collins was the lead singer for the 1980s post-punk band Orange Juice, which he co-founded. After the group split in 1985, Collins started a solo career. His 1994 single " A Girl Like You" was a worldwide hit. In February 2005, Collins was hospitalised after two cerebral haemorrhages which resulted in aphasia, and he needed months to recover. He resumed his musical career in 2007. A documentary film on his recovery, ''The Possibilities Are Endless'', was released in 2014. ''Shaving Peaches'' is the fourth album by Terrorvision. Released in 1998 as the follow-up to ''Regular Urban Survivors'', it found the band heading in a more chart-orientated pop direction with co-production from Edwyn Collins. Here, the band push their sound further than before, veering away from metal towards a soft rock sound that uses actual electronic beats. The Pepsi Chart (previously known as "The Pepsi Network Chart Show") was a networked Sunday afternoon Top 40 countdown on UK radio that started life on 1 August 1993 with Neil 'Doctor' Fox hosting the show live from the Capital Radio studios in London. The Pepsi Chart show carried an emphasis in fun and was the UK's first personality-led chart show: the presenter was live and exciting and big-prize competitions were held. The ''Pepsi Chart'' was produced for the Commercial Radio Companies Association by the Unique Broadcasting Company, who along with the (then) programme director of Capital Radio Richard Park, and Fox, came up with the new show concept. The show was broadcast on between 80 and 110 local commercial radio stations across the UK via SMS satellite.
