Moistboyz is an American hard rock band formed in New Hope, Pennsylvania in 1991 by Guy Heller and Mickey Melchiondo. Moistboyz music is typically fast-paced punk/metal, combining stream-of-consciousness lyrics with aggressive rock guitar riffs. As in Melchiondo's band Ween, both he and Heller assume aliases: Mickey Moist and Dickie Moist. History Melchiondo and Heller met when they were both 14. However, they didn't develop a musical partnership until 7 years later. While Melchiondo's other band Ween was working on their third album Pure Guava, Heller's band False Front was working out of the same farm house studio. During times when Melchiondo's Ween bandmate wasn't around, he and Heller would make music on their own. Ipecac Recordings
Ipecac Recordings is an independent record label based in California. It was founded on April 1, 1999, by Greg Werckman (ex-label manager of Alternative Tentacles, ex-lead singer of DUH, ex-employee of Mercury Records) and Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, Fantômas, Tomahawk, Peeping Tom, and Mondo Cane) in Alameda, California. Originally, the label was created for the sole purpose of releasing the first Fantômas album. It has since distributed music by artists such as Melvins, Oxbow and Isis, as well as several of Patton's other projects and collaborations. The label is named after syrup of ipecac, an emetic, or vomit-inducing, medicine. Its slogan is "Ipecac Recordings—Making People Sick Since 1999". Ipecac Recordings Discography
Ipecac Recordings is an American independent record label founded in 1999 by Greg Werckman and Mike Patton. The label was established to release Patton's band Fantômas' self-titled début, allowing retention of "all the creative control". Its creation also provided the Melvins – friends of Werckman and Patton's – with a label. Ipecac has distributed material by other artists, including Isis, Dälek, and many of Patton's other projects and collaborations. Though the label's main output is rock and experimental music, it has also released DVDs, a book, soundtracks and a work of comedy. Alongside original content, it has been responsible for re-releasing older and imported recordings originally handled by other labels, as well as vinyl releases of later albums by Queens of the Stone Age. Mickey Melchiondo
Michael Melchiondo Jr. (born September 25, 1970), better known by his stage name Dean Ween, is an American guitarist, singer and a founding member of the alternative rock group Ween. He is currently active in the groups Ween, Moistboyz and The Dean Ween Group. Biography In 1984, Melchiondo met Aaron Freeman in a junior high school typing class, in their hometown of New Hope, Pennsylvania. The two adopted the fictitious surname Ween after the demon-god Boognish appeared to them, with Melchiondo taking up the name Dean Ween and Freeman the name Gene Ween. In 1991, Melchiondo formed the punk rock duo Moistboyz with Guy Heller. Moistboyz have released five eponymous studio recordings.
