IFFK
The International Film Festival of Kerala (abbreviated as IFFK) is a film festival held annually in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala, India. This film festival started in 1996 and is hosted by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on behalf of Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala. The festival is held in November or December every year and is acknowledged as one of the leading cultural events in India. Several national and international films have their premiers at the IFFK each year. Competition section is limited to 14 selected films produced in Asia, Africa or Latin America. The festival also has a section devoted to Malayalam cinema. On the lines of the IFFK, the Chalachitra Academy also organises the ''International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala''. Kerala State Chalachitra Academy
Kerala State Motion Picture Academy is an autonomous non-profit institution based in Trivandrum, working under the Department of Cultural Affairs (Kerala), Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala. History It was founded in August 1998 for the promotion of cinema in Kerala, considering that cinema is the most popular art form in the Kerala, state. The academy was first of its kind in India; it was formed on the basis of the Karant committee report (1980), which proposed the formation of a national film academy. Under the leadership of T. K. The city of Thiruvananthapuram has been the centre of cultural activities of Kerala (India) from the time it was made capital of Travancore in 1745. ''Stolen Life'' ( zh, c=生死劫, p=Shēngsǐ jié), also known as ''Life and Death Plunder'', is a 2005 Chinese drama film directed by Li Shaohong, and starring Zhou Xun and Wu Jun. Lucía Puenzo (born 28 November 1976, Buenos Aires) is an Argentine author, screenwriter and film director. She is the daughter of the Oscar-winning film director, producer, and screenplay writer, Luis Puenzo. Early life Puenzo studied literature at the University of Buenos Aires and proceeded to attend the ENERC, film school of the National Film Institute from Argentina (INCAA), where she graduated. She has done work with feature films, documentary films and mini series. Abu Sayeed (born 1962) is a Bangladeshi film director, screenwriter, and television producer. As a filmmaker he has made six full-length features and two short films. HIs films have received 6 national and 4 international awards. Biography Sayeed graduated from United High School, Naogan, and then attended Government Azizul Haque College. In 1987, at the age of 25, Abu Sayeed made his first film, the short ''Aborton''. It was released the following year and won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Short Film. Wang Chao (; born January 21, 1964, in Nanjing) is a Chinese film director and screenwriter, sometimes considered part of the loosely defined "sixth generation." Wang began his career serving as an assistant director to the fifth generation auteur, Chen Kaige, working with the elder director on epics like '' Farewell My Concubine'' and '' The Emperor and the Assassin''.
