DisplayPort
DisplayPort (DP) is a digital interface used to connect a video source, such as a Personal computer, computer, to a display device like a Computer monitor, monitor. Developed by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA), it can also carry digital audio, USB, and other types of data over a single cable. Introduced in the 2000s, DisplayPort was designed to replace older standards like VGA connector, VGA, DVI, and FPD-Link. While not directly compatible with these formats, Adapter, adapters are available for connecting to HDMI, DVI, VGA, and other interfaces. Unlike older interfaces, DisplayPort uses Data packet, packet-based transmission, similar to how data is sent over USB or Ethernet. The design enables support for high resolutions and adding new features without changing the connector. DisplayPort includes an auxiliary data channel used for device control and automatic configuration between source and display devices. It supports standards such as Display Data Channe ...

Intrinsically Disordered Proteins
In molecular biology, an intrinsically disordered protein (IDP) is a protein that lacks a fixed or ordered protein tertiary structure, three-dimensional structure, typically in the absence of its macromolecular interaction partners, such as other proteins or RNA. IDPs range from fully unstructured to partially structured and include random coil, molten globule-like Protein aggregation, aggregates, or flexible linkers in large multi-Protein domain, domain proteins. They are sometimes considered as a separate class of proteins along with globular protein, globular, fibrous protein, fibrous and membrane proteins. IDPs are a very large and functionally important class of proteins. They are most numerous in Eukaryote, eukaryotes, with an estimated 30-40% of residues in the eukaryotic proteome located in disordered regions. Disorder is present in around 70% of proteins, either in the form of disordered tails or flexible linkers. Proteins can also be entirely disordered and lack a define ...

Internally Displaced Person
An internally displaced person (IDP) is someone who is forced to leave their home but who remains within their country's borders. They are often referred to as refugees, although they do not fall within the legal definitions of a refugee. In 2022, it was estimated there were 70.5 million IDPs worldwide. The first year for which global statistics on IDPs are available was in 1989. the countries with the largest IDP populations were Ukraine (8 million), Syria (7.6 million), Ethiopia (5.5 million), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (5.2 million), Colombia (4.9 million), Yemen (4.3 million), Afghanistan (3.8 million), Iraq (3.6 million), Sudan (2.2 million), South Sudan (1.9 million), Pakistan (1.4 million), Nigeria (1.2 million) and Somalia (1.1 million). More than 85% of Palestinians in Gaza (1.9 million) were internally displaced as of January 2024. The United Nations and the UNHCR support monitoring and analysis of worldwide IDPs through the Geneva-based Internal Displ ...

Individual Development Plan
An individual development plan, or IDP, is a document completed by an employee, or a student, to encourage their self-development over a fixed period, often one year. Using IDPs can provide a guide an organisation with detailed information on the competencies and needs of their employees and guide the creation of targeted training and development programmes. A 2018 study of postdoctoral students found that 38% of those who used IDPs, found the process useful for their career development. Fantasy Football (American)
Fantasy football is a game in which the participants serve as owners and general managers of virtual gridiron football teams. The competitors select their rosters by participating in a draft in which all relevant National Football League (NFL) players are available. Fantasy points are awarded in weekly matchups based on the actual performances of football players in real-world competition. The game typically involves the NFL, but can also involve other leagues, such as the Canadian Football League or NCAA. There are three main types of fantasy football: * Traditional (redraft) – Leagues in which the competition can run for an entire season, normally culminating in playoffs. Participants engage in a draft once yearly and emerge with completely new teams. * Keeper or dynasty leagues – These leagues are initially drafted in the same fashion as a traditional season-long league, however, each team in a keeper league is able to retain a certain number of players from one year to th ...

Internet Datagram Protocol
Xerox Network Systems (XNS) is a computer networking protocol suite developed by Xerox within the Xerox Network Systems Architecture. It provided general purpose network communications, internetwork routing and packet delivery, and higher level functions such as a reliable stream, and remote procedure calls. XNS predated and influenced the development of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) networking model, and was very influential in local area networking designs during the 1980s. XNS was developed by the Xerox Systems Development Department in the early 1980s, who were charged with bringing Xerox PARC's research to market. XNS was based on the earlier (and equally influential) PARC Universal Packet (PUP) suite from the late 1970s. Some of the protocols in the XNS suite were lightly modified versions of the ones in the Pup suite. XNS added the concept of a network number, allowing larger networks to be constructed from multiple smaller ones, with routers controlling the flow ...

Intrusion Detection And Prevention Systems
An intrusion detection system (IDS) is a device or software application that monitors a network or systems for malicious activity or policy violations. Any intrusion activity or violation is typically either reported to an administrator or collected centrally using a security information and event management (SIEM) system. A SIEM system combines outputs from multiple sources and uses alarm filtering techniques to distinguish malicious activity from false alarms. IDS types range in scope from single computers to large networks. The most common classifications are network intrusion detection systems (NIDS) and host-based intrusion detection systems (HIDS). A system that monitors important operating system files is an example of an HIDS, while a system that analyzes incoming network traffic is an example of an NIDS. It is also possible to classify IDS by detection approach. The most well-known variants are signature-based detection (recognizing bad patterns, such as exploitation ...

Intelligent Document Processing
Document processing is a field of research and a set of production processes aimed at making an analog document digital. Document processing does not simply aim to photograph or scan a document to obtain a digital image, but also to make it digitally intelligible. This includes extracting the structure of the document or the layout and then the content, which can take the form of text or images. The process can involve traditional computer vision algorithms, convolutional neural networks or manual labor. The problems addressed are related to semantic segmentation, object detection, optical character recognition (OCR), handwritten text recognition (HTR) and, more broadly, transcription, whether automatic or not. The term can also include the phase of digitizing the document using a scanner and the phase of interpreting the document, for example using natural language processing (NLP) or image classification technologies. It is applied in many industrial and scientific fields for t ...

Initial Detection Point (telephony)
The IDP receives a message (IDP Message) initiated by the SSP (service switching point) and transmitted to the service control point SCP via the INAP protocol. The Service switching point, Service Switching Point (SSP) receives a message ''(ISUP Message)'' initiated by the Calling Party, this could be an IAM (Initial Address Message). The SSP evaluates the nature of the message, in the case of the IAM the called and calling party numbers. From this it determines whether it can route the call or whether it needs further instructions. In this case if the SSP does require further instructions it sends an IDP to a service control point Service Control Point, SCP via an IN protocol. The protocol may be INAP but could be CAMEL, or bespoke INAP flavours such as Ericsson INAP, Nokia INAP, Siemens INAP or Huawei INAP. Signaling System 7 {{telephony-stub ...
