ICC World Test Championship Mace
The Test Championship Mace is the International Cricket Council trophy for the Test cricket format. Since 2019, it has been given to the winner of the World Test Championship cycle. Until 2019, it was held by the top-ranked team in the Test Championship. History The mace's original design dates back to 2000, when it was crafted by Trevor Brown, a trophy designer employed at Thomas Lyte. In 2021, the mace underwent a redesign, and the updated version was created at the workshop of Thomas Lyte in London. Prior to the introduction of the World Test Championship, the mace was awarded to the team at the top of the ICC Men's Test Team Rankings. ICC Men's Test Team Rankings
The ICC Men's Test Team Rankings (formerly known as the ICC Test Championship) is an international rankings system of the International Cricket Council for the 12 teams that play Test cricket. The rankings are based on international matches that are otherwise played as part of regular Test cricket scheduling, with no consideration of home or away status. After every Test series, the two teams involved receive points based on a mathematical formula involving both teams' previous rating and the result of the series. Each team's points total from matches over the last 3–4 years is divided by a figure based on their total number of matches and series played, to give a "rating". A drawn match between higher and lower rated teams will benefit the lower-rated team at the expense of the higher-rated team. 2025 ICC World Test Championship Final
The 2025 ICC World Test Championship final was a Test cricket match played at Lord's, London from 11 to 14 June to determine the winner of the 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship. It was played between Australia and South Africa. South Africa won the match by 5 wickets to win the third edition of the ICC World Test Championship. This marked South Africa's maiden win of the Championship. As winners, they received a cash prize of US$3.6 million, while the Australian team received a cash prize of US$2.1 million. Declaration And Forfeiture
In the sport of cricket, a declaration occurs when a captain declares their team's innings closed and a forfeiture occurs when a captain chooses to forfeit an innings without batting. The 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship was the second edition of the ICC World Test Championship of Test cricket. It started on 4 August 2021 and finished with the Final on 7–11 June 2023 at The Oval, London, played between Australia and India.
