Huánuco Region
Huánuco (; qu, Wanuku) is a city in central Peru. It had a population of 196,627 as of 2017 and in 2015 it had a population of 175,068. It is the capital of the Huánuco Region and the Huánuco District. It is the seat of the diocese of Huánuco. The metropolitan city of Huanuco is 170,000 hab (2011, urban pop, INEI). It has three districts, Huanuco (head), Amarilis, and Pillco Marca. In this city, the Higueras river meets the Huallaga river, one of the largest rivers in the country. History The city of Huánuco was founded by Spanish conquistador Gómez de Alvarado in 1539, in the Inca town of Yarowilca. In 1541, the city was moved to its current location in the Pillco Valley. Regions Of Peru
According to the ''Organic Law of Regional Governments'', the regions ( es, regiones) are, with the departments, the first-level administrative subdivisions of Peru. Since its Peruvian War of Independence, 1821 independence, Peru had been divided into departments of Peru, departments () but faced the problem of increasing centralization of political and economic power in its capital, Lima. After several unsuccessful regionalization attempts, the national government decided to temporarily provide the departments (including the Constitutional Province of Callao) with regional governments until the conformation of regions according to the ''Organic Law of Regional Governments'' which says that two or more departments should merge to conform a region. The administrative divisions of Peru have changed from time to time since the nation gained independence from Spain in the early 19th century. The old territorial subdivisions have split or merged due to several reasons, the most common ones being the need for decentralization and population increase, especially in Lima. History Peru was divided into 24 departments (''departamentos''; singular: ''departamento'') until the creation of the regions in 2002. These regions are governed by Regional Governments. Many people still use the old ''departamentos'' term when referring to the current regions of Peru, although it is now obsolete. Alférez FAP David Figueroa Fernandini Airport is an airport serving Huánuco, Peru. It is the most important airport in the Huánuco Region and is operated by the civil government. It is currently served by 3 airlines, with all of them offering daily flights to Lima: ATSA Airlines, ATSA, Star Perú and Wayraperú. Although there are no other regular scheduled services, the airport serves many charter and private flights. The runway is in the valley of the Huallaga River, with high terrain in all quadrants. Johan Javier Fano Espinoza (born 9 August 1978 in Huánuco, Perú) is a Peruvian football manager and former player who played as a forward. Career His professional football debut was on March 5, 1995 playing for León de Huánuco. Fano has played for many Peruvian football clubs throughout his career. He has played for both Universitario and Alianza Lima, and notably scored 46 goals for Coronel Bolognesi. "El Cóndor Pasa" (, Spanish for "The Condor Passes") is an orchestral musical piece from the zarzuela ''El Cóndor Pasa'' by the Peruvian composer Daniel Alomía Robles, written in 1913 and based on traditional Andean music, specifically folk music from Peru. Since then, it has been estimated that, around the world, more than 4,000 versions of the melody have been produced, along with 300 sets of lyrics. Daniel Alomía Robles (3 January 1871 – 17 July 1942) was a Peruvian composer and ethnomusicologist. He is best known for composing the song " El Cóndor Pasa" in 1913 as part of a zarzuela — a musical play that alternates between spoken and sung parts — of the same name. This song was based on Andean folk songs and is possibly the best known Peruvian song, partly due to the worldwide success that the melody obtained when it was used by Simon and Garfunkel as their music for " El Cóndor Pasa (If I Could)", although that song has different lyrics.
