Isengard (band)
Isengard is a solo project of Fenriz, the drummer of Darkthrone, created in 1989. It is rooted on Norwegian black metal, black/Viking metal and experimental rock on some tracks, and named after the large fortress Isengard in J. R. R. Tolkien's ''The Lord of the Rings'' book series. History The person/creature in Isengard's logo was taken from an old ''Lord of the Rings'' role-playing game, RPG called Middle-earth Role Playing. The original illustration represents Thuringwethil, the vampire from Tolkien's book ''The Silmarillion''. Fenriz created Isengard because he had many musical ideas that did not fit in with the style and music of Darkthrone. Fenriz performed all instruments and vocals himself. Moonfog Productions
Moonfog Productions was a Norwegian record label founded by Satyricon frontman Satyr and Tormod Opedal. The label was established unofficially in 1992 and released its first record in 1994. Moonfog Productions specialized in black metal and other genres when these were the musical projects of the artists on its main roster. A significant number of titles from Moonfog were subsequently reissued by Peaceville Records. Folk metal is a fusion genre of heavy metal music and traditional folk music that developed in Europe during the 1990s. Dødheimsgard (also known as DHG) is a Norwegian extreme metal band formed in 1994. Dødheimsgard originally played black metal, but 1999's ''666 International'' saw them change their style into experimental and Avant-garde metal, avant-garde/industrial metal.
