Hêzên Komandos
The Hêzên Komandos (, ) are a counterinsurgency force within the Syrian Democratic Forces, trained and equipped by the U.S. Department of Defense. The force primarily targets the Islamic State in high-value target raids and clearance operations. History Hêzên Komandos has been in existence since at least 2020, while earlier SDF “commando” units have existed since at least 2018. In 2020, the Commando Forces reportedly raided 56 sites in a single anti-ISIS operation in Deir Ezzor, with support from the International Coalition. On 25 February 2021, the Commandos raided illegal river crossings on the Euphrates used by smugglers. The Syrian Democratic Forces deployed the Commando Forces to suppress the al-Sina’a Prison break in 2022. On 5 February 2024, six members of the Hêzên Komandos were killed within an SDF training academy near the al-Omar Oil Fields, when an Iranian attack drone launched by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI) from Syrian Government territory ...

Deir ez-Zor Governorate ( / ALA-LC: ''Muḥāfaẓat Dayr az-Zawr,'' Kurdish'':'' ''Parêzgeha Dêrezor'') is one of the fourteen governorates (provinces) of Syria. Asayish (North And East Syria)
The Internal Security Forces, also known as the Asayish in the Jazira, Euphrates, and Afrin Regions, is the internal security and police force in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. Formed in the early stages of the Syrian Civil War, it had initially been established to police areas controlled by the Kurdish Supreme Committee. In October 2013, the Asayish claimed to have 4,000 members; by 2017, the number had reportedly risen to over 15,000. Structure Organization According to the Constitution of North and East Syria, policing is the responsibility of the autonomous sub-regions. The Anti-Terror Units (, short: YAT, ) are the special forces of the Syrian Democratic Forces, consisting of the best trained and equipped members of the People's Protection Units (YPG) and Women's Protection Units (YPJ). Islamic Resistance In Iraq (2020–present)
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI; ) refers to an informal network of Iranian-backed Shia Islamist armed groups in Iraq. The name is used by members of the network when carrying out attacks against American forces or its allies in the region. IRI does not represent the official position of the Iraqi government and consists of militias that operate outside the formal command structure of the Iraqi armed forces. In October 2023, the IRI began launching rockets and drones at US bases in Iraq, Jordan and Syria, causing minor injuries to American servicemen until a drone attack killed three US soldiers in Jordan on 28 January 2024. Al-Omar Field
Al-Omar field () is an oil field in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, Syria. It is located north of Mayadin, east of the Euphrates river. History Al-Omar oil field, discovered in 1987, was operated by Al-Furat Petroleum Company (AFPC), subsidiary of the Syrian Petroleum Company. It initially peaked at a production of around 80,000 barrels per day (b/d). However, due to a lack of pressure support and overproduction in the early 1990s, the field was damaged, leading to a sharp decline in output to 16,000 b/d by 1991. Water injection techniques were implemented from 1991 onwards, stabilizing production at a plateau of 60,000–70,000 b/d between 1994 and 1997.
