Héctor Torres (actor)
Héctor Epitacio Torres Marroquin (born September 16, 1945) is a Mexican former Major League Baseball shortstop. Nicknamed "La Malita" in his native Mexico, he played all or parts of nine seasons in the majors, between and , with the Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs, Montreal Expos, San Diego Padres and Toronto Blue Jays. Early years Torres played in the 1958 Little League World Series as a member of the championship team, Industrial Little League of Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. Major League career Houston Astros (1968–1970) Torres was originally signed as an amateur free agent by the San Francisco Giants on March 25, 1962. On April 6, 1966, he was traded by the Giants to the California Angels for Dave Marshall. California Angels
The Los Angeles Angels are an American professional baseball team based in the Greater Los Angeles area. The Pacific Coast League (PCL) is a Minor League Baseball league that operates in the Western United States. Along with the International League, it is one of two leagues playing at the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A level, which is one grade below Major League Baseball (MLB). The PCL was one of the premier regional baseball leagues in the first half of the 20th century. Although it was never recognized as a true major league, to which it aspired, its quality of play was considered very high. Hawaii Islanders
The Hawaii Islanders were a minor league baseball team based in Honolulu, Hawaii, that played in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League for 27 seasons from 1961 through 1987. Originally an affiliate of the Kansas City Athletics, the Islanders played their home games at Honolulu Stadium, Aloha Stadium and Les Murakami Stadium.
