Hyundai Gamma Engine
The Hyundai Gamma engine was introduced in 2006 to replace the existing Hyundai Alpha engine. There are 1.4 L and 1.6 L versions of this engine. The Gamma II can apparently run in Atkinson cycle (leaving intake open longer for more complete burn but less displacement) under low loads for additional fuel economy with the ability to shift to Otto cycle on demand under high loads or for extra acceleration. Continuously Variable Valve Timing
Variable valve timing (VVT) is the process of altering the timing of a valve lift event in an internal combustion engine, and is often used to improve performance, fuel economy or emissions. It is increasingly being used in combination with variable valve lift systems. There are many ways in which this can be achieved, ranging from mechanical devices to electro-hydraulic and camless systems. The Kia Ceed (known as the Kia Cee'd before 2018) is a compact car/small family car (C-segment) produced by the South Korean manufacturer Kia since 2006 exclusively for the European market. It is the first Kia vehicle to be designed entirely in Europe and tailored to European customers.
