Kim Hyo-jung (; born December 11, 1990), better known by her stage name Hyolyn (), is a South Korean singer and songwriter. Currently, she is under the management of Bridʒ, a production company she founded herself. She is a former member of the South Korean girl group Sistar and their sub-unit Sistar19. Life and career 1990–2009: Early life and career beginnings Kim Hyo-jung was born on December 11, 1990, in Incheon, South Korea. Her father is a retired Marine Corps officer. Born prematurely, Hyolyn's infancy was complicated by a serious form of biliary atresia, which led to several surgeries, intussuseption and the eventual loss of her gall bladder. Sistar
Sistar (; stylized in all caps) was a South Korean girl group formed in 2010 by Starship Entertainment. The group consisted of Hyolyn, Yoon Bo-ra, Bora, Soyou and Kim Da-som, Dasom. They made their official debut with the song "Push Push (Sistar song), Push Push" on 3 June 2010. Their debut studio album ''So Cool (Sistar album), So Cool'' was released on 9 August 2011. Sistar19
Sistar19 () is a South Korean duo and sub-unit of the girl group Sistar, formed by Starship Entertainment. Composing of Bora and Hyolyn, they debuted in May 2011 with the digital single "Ma Boy". Their second and most successful single, "Gone Not Around Any Longer", was released in 2013 as the title track for their first and only EP of the same name. Sistar, along with Sistar19, disbanded in June 2017. In January 2024, Sistar19 reunited to release their second digital single "No More (Ma Boy)". ''Dream High 2'' () is a 2012 South Korean television series starring Kang So-ra, Jay B, Jeong Jin-woon, Park Ji-yeon, Hyolyn, and Park Seo-joon.
